McCarthy screwed up! With the Packers pinned at their own 4 after a punt, Starks ran the ball 2 times gaining 8 yards & forcing the Chargers to use 2 timeouts. McCarthy should have ran the ball again to force S.D. to use their final timeout if the Pack picks up the 1st down or not! But instead he ends up calling a roll out for Rodgers on their own 12 yard line & Rodgers almost gets his arm taken off! Plus it stopped the clock with the incompletion! The only reason they got bailed out on that play was for the HOLDING call by the Chargers player! That was a dumb play call!
What about the catch/no catch McCarthy didnt even challenge earleir in the game when replays showed it clearly was NOT a catch & the Chargers ended up gaining 4 yards on the play as it was ruled a catch & a fumble on the field? McCarthys play calling & lack of clock management skills are going to bite the Packers in the *** @ some point & it will be a BIG game! He's clueless as when to challenge & when not to challenge. He builds a lead (ala 21 points with 10 minutes left in the 4th vs the Chargers, ), then gets out his conservative playbook, plus he doesnt know how to mangae the clock at all!!!!
Why doesn't McCarthy go for "the kill" ala Brady & Bellicek @ New England? He always seems to build leads then allow teams (with decent offenses) to come back & make it a close game?
Anybody else see this?
