Fogltanz runs a 50.48 in his 400 hurdles heat, good for 4th. He'll have to wait to see if that's good enough to advance on time.

First flight of men's javelin is complete. Fuchs and flight 2 will be up shortly.

Fogltanz's time got bumped out by heat 2; he will not advance.

Fuchs throws 70.91m (232-7) on his first attempt. That holds up for 7th, and he'll advance to the finals flight.

That 10,000 was incredible. Guy who won (Tulsa) set a new PR by almost a full minute. Smashed the meet record that was set over 40 years ago, and there were 3 others right with him down the stretch.

Kiptoo led 16 of the first 18 laps, but faded to 11th by the end (28:03.65).

Winner finished in 27:41.87.

Old meet record was 28:01.30, set in 1979 -- 10 guys broke that mark tonight.

Kurgat was a DNF. Appeared to complete only 15/25 laps, according to the split tracker.

Kiptoo, sadly is the sacrificial lamb for pulling everyone to that blistering pace. And, the cumulative fatigue of so many big championship record breaking performances likely caught up to him. He's certainly the most accomplished runner in the race but 33,000m of record breaking racing will humble even the best of them.

Has Kurgat been injured this season? Too bad about kiptoo but that guy has one level (hard) and I respect it. Could have gone easier in some of those big12 championship races. This probably doesn’t bode well for his 5k chances

Agree, it's much harder to recover from a race that went poorly than one that finishes strong.
