I'm starting to think that there arent very many 'great shooters' out there. If they are that good, they are probably already on a good team and arent transferring. Or turning pro. Just an example, so please no smart remarks, but Jordan Bohannon while sometimes streaky, is a great shooter, yet he takes the wrath sometimes of even his own fan base. Does Scott Drew have a great way to develop or improve shooters, because they also have to be good enough to see the floor by playing great defense and ball handling? ((why some said Bowen wasn't Big 12 caliber)) Or were they known to be great shooters when Drew recruited them?
So would good coaching.
There is a long list of Cyclone transfers that everyone here moaned about their shooting stats at their previous stop.

Look at how Baylor won the title..... shooting lights out from 3 and playing amazing defense. Load your team full of 3 and D players. This year we had neither shooting or defense. Defense should be better next year, but shooting right now doesn't look to be any better..... as of yet anyway.

CycloneDude today was a good day for the program. We can worry about the "flaws" on the roster tomorrow just enjoy keeping Tyrese, getting Gabe (who could be that shooter) and the return of Caleb tonight.
There are still 2 spots open and the staff is working to fill them with the best players they can.

Let’s not forget about the jump Walker may have as well. He has some attributes you can’t teach and had some flashes this year both offensively and defensively. Glad he’s still in the fold.

They certainly know terrible in I City. But methinks they are just projecting.
Solid point. Wasn't DeAndre Kane not shooting well and turning the ball over a ton at Marshall before he came here? All he did was end up as the 2nd best transfer we've ever had here by a wide margin. Would be be best if not Royce

Wisconsin does a terrible job of recruiting their own state. They often pass over top tier players for “system” guys.
Hell ISU gets better Wisconsin recruits. Tyrese Halliburton, Matt Thomas, Deonte Burton...never even sniffed a Badgers offer.

I'm feeling more optimistic about the roster and direction of the program at this point than I have since spring of 2018. That's nice to feel again! Hope we can get another big time transfer in the guard / small forward mold who can score / shoot and we could be in good shape again. Certainly not championship caliber, but things would be looking up.
