Wrestling is here ladies and gentlemen. This season will be very interesting since we will get a chance to see if Jackson was worth our patience. A top five finish and a win over Iowa isn't in the cards, but will we have a winning dual record and a respectable finish in Des Moines? Only time will tell.

I am not doing predictions yet because we have so many young guys and it is early in the season. But I will say that I expect a solid win over Old Dominion today.
Today we match up against Old Dominion University. Here's my projected line-ups.
At 125 Finch will go against another sophomore who was an NCAA qualifier last year. What I am looking for here is for Finch to get a solid win over a low ranked guy.
At 133 Meeks will get a decent, but not elite opponent. I look for him to show he is worth pulling his redshirt by getting a major. Or at least never having the win in doubt.
At 141 I look for Goettl to show us that his one loss was a fluke. This will probably be the match of the day and here I look for Luke to show improvement from last year and to demonstrate that Nickerson is earning his salary.
At 149 White or Swalla is facing a true freshman NJ champion. If Mayfield was good to go I would expect a win. With either of those guys I just expect effort and hoping to hold it to a decision. I hope we get Max back soon.
At 157 Nicholson from ODU was an NCAA qualifier last year. I think Molina has what it takes to get a win here. Beating guys like Nicholson will be important for our overall dual and NCAA record.
At 165 Moreno will be facing a redshirt freshman with a subpar pedigree. I expect a solid win.
At 174 England or Tanner Weatherman will be up against a mediocre wrestler. I expect a dominating win.
At 184 Beard should dominate. No excuses.
At 197 Gadsen or Shaffer should dominate. No excuses.
At Heavy Gibson should do the same against a 197 pounder who is wrestling up for ODU.
Overall the bottom weights are a great test for our young guys and we should dominate the upper half of the lineup.
