i just want to hear some legit thoughts?
hope so, but maybe or maybe not.
Do you think the hundreds of other pages on this topic are illegitimate thoughts?
I think he's had enough of a chance to prove himself, and it is obvious that his system doesn't work!!! Either change his offensive system or find someone who can/will.
I have a sinking feeling that he won't be.
I think he's definitely going to be removed from the OC position, but something tells me he'll manage to keep some sort of job within the program.
* Referring to the OP, hopefully he's banned for spam.
Just once, I'd like to come to CF and not see a thread about this.
Yeah, yeah, I know - don't open the thread and all that.
All I know is we'll know for sure one way or another by 08/31 of next year.
I'm solidly in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp. He deserves to be sent packing but I have 0 faith that CPR has the stones to actually do it. These kids on the offense deserve to be put in positions to win for all the work they put it and Mess hasn't shown that he can deliver that.
I don't think he will be gone, and I'm still not convinced at all that he wont be OC.
It's pretty simple. If Rhoads doesn't get rid of him then it will cost him his job within the next couple years.
CPR knows he has to make staff changes to keep fan support and this is the obvious one. I don't see how he doesn't do it
I would hope its that much of a black and white decision for him, but I don't see it.
It was never all about Mess for me (though he is not good). Rather, it is about retooling the entire offense soup to nuts—from philosophy to plays to execution to coaching/preparation. It has also become about PR owning up to his own shortcomings in this regard.
The ridiculous statement by PR today about QBs and next season (a question that never should have been answered), suggests to me that PR is not willing/able to significantly change his O philosophy, or to hire someone and get out of the way.
The end result ... well let me put it this way: I think it a strong possibility that when we break ground on the new end zone, we'll also be breaking ground with a new head coach.
maybe not gone (he's a good recruiter per CPR) but definitely not OC
I guess if he doesn't see it, then he wasn't really ever going to get it done here and he is not the man for the job.
Not sure if they'll fire him, but more than likely won't be our OC next season.
With the SEZ confirmed today, there will be a much greater pressure to produce. Our stadium will not look pretty, even with the SEZ, if our attendance sucks.
I could see another year for Mess and if things don't work, I am sure he will be gone.
