It is baffling how you can't simply tune in to ISU games in Eastern Iowa.
It's stupid.
The ISU athletics administration doesn't really care about it though, so there's the Varsity app.
Download the varsity app. It can be a little screwy but it works. Search Iowa state and you’ll find it. Sometimes it cuts out for me and I have to restart the app but it works again right away.

North eastern Iowa. Cedar Rapids has KGYM, Ottumwa has KLEE, Quad Cities and Muscatine have stations … there’s just nothing north of CR and east of Cedar Falls.
I don't want to cause any panic but the staff did reach out to me last week to see if I have any eligibility left.
I visit Linn County and the ISU game doesn't come in very well if I try to listen.
Cedar Rapids market has 1600am and Cedar Falls has 1650am...both come in clear for me from the Iowa City area to north of the Cedar Falls area...

The KGYM signal isn’t the best, I admit, but it should at least cover all of Linn County. Their engineering may not be the greatest (I used to listen to them every day on the way to work, and their were multiple early mornings when the entire 20+ minute drive as nothing but public service announcement “ads,” because they’d lost their connection with ESPN Radio and nobody had fixed it).
My first grandchild was born Oct 6th. She is beautiful and she is a Cyclones through and through. She only knows the Cyclones as winners. She only knows us to have Top 10 nationally ranked programs in FB, MBB, and WBB. Her first name is Winifred. She may go by Winnie, but Grandpa may just call her Win the way things are going. Another WIN for my granddaughter please.

FYI, if you do want to participate in the unofficial black out, Strawberry Patch in Ankeny has a whole bunch of black Iowa State apparel set up outside. They also have some black apparel inside.
