MLBs blackout rules are really, REALLY stupid. I live 6 hrs from Busch. I will never think “You know, I was gonna go to the game, but I think I’ll just watch it on TV instead.” Just look at ISU, for example, you can watch every game on TV now, and JTS is still packed every weekend. Even if MLB wanted to keep the rules, maybe a 2 HR radius from STL makes sense. Not 6.I have my fingers crossed. I'd be happy just to get radio, but even that it is a challenge where I'm at ("in Cardinals country"). From a marketing standpoint, how do you promote your team or sport by restricting access?
And to your point, it’s just so arcane. We’ve long since learned that more exposure is best in marketing. Companies who fight against YT videos and severely restrict their content are just silly.
