Re: National Duals-ISU vs NIU

sorry about the separate threads. mods feel free to merge. i just thought it might be nice to header who we were against each round. had company and missed the end of the niu dual. are we for sure going against american next?

I went ahead and merged them and made it "official."

As long as Cash (or Jones) and Ward win, I think we can get this 20-19 by winning 6 matches and getting a few majors from Sorenson and Reader to counter their bonus points.

That doesn't give us any margin for error though. We have so split the first two matches and then let everything else go as rankings/records predict.

reader HAS to get bonus. i don't care if he dominates by winning 4-0-that won't be good enough. he is going to have to give up trying for back points and attack from the feet early and often. this is a dual, not a tourny.

Jones wins it 8-7. If Cash can come through as well that owuld be huge for the outcome of the dual. Though even just splitting these first two keeps us alive.

ISU 3 - American 0 after 125.

They are sending out someone else at 133... Kevin Tao. The NCWA site is down so I can't check his record. But he's backing up a mediocre guy.

Edit: looks like he's 7-6.

Tao wins it 7-2

ISU 3 - American 3 after 133.

In the next two matches we need to win at 141 and try not to give up bonus at 149.

Down 3-0 to start the third, not looking good. We needed this one. Hopefully Reader and Sorenson can get pins...
