I agree. Huggins is a very good coach. I wouldn't get too cocky and just assume we win. I am not saying we WONT win, but I think it will be close.

You're on the right track.

If the struggles of Texas and West Virginia have a lot to do with youth and inconsistent scoring, Huggins can probably squeeze 8 to 10 points more out of a similar situation, compared to Barnes.

And WVa won at UT.

An advantage I see — Hoiberg's teams appear to make hay on opponents that don't shoot/score well.

This should be a win, but probably only single-digit. In preseason I said 76-72. I'll stick with that to be safe.

Live and die by the 3 ball. Hope we can hit our shots, or this one is going to be too close for comfort. We SHOULD win this game by 12+ points.

Their freshman, Henderson, won't be making the trip. They can't afford to lose players.

So far in Big 12 play they have scored 57 on the road in OT shooting 30%, scored 64 at home shooting 50% and scored 57 at home shooting 30%. They have only scored over 70 points a few times away from home the entire season. Not to say that they can't score 70 in Hilton but I certainly wouldn't predict it.

ISU shoots a ton of FT's - hopefully they take advantage of the "1 and 1" and "and 1" opportunities.

ISU 70 - WVU 58 in a game that is closer than that until the very end.

Yeah, thats a decent loss for them, losing a starter and a good amount of minutes played, avg'd 11 pts in conference so far (their second most), put up 23 against michigan.

Yeah, I can see ISU pulling away and breaching the 70 pt mark on late FTs when WVU is forced to foul.

Wow, surprised at the lack of confidence here. No way in heck we don't get over 70 and West Virginia has no offensive firepower to speak of. Sure they hang around for a bit but I don't see this being much different than the Texas game. Some people must not have seen WV play yet this year.

Here nor there
Crazy stat: Huggins has coached a team to 19 out of the last 21 NCAA tournaments. The two years he did not were 05-06 when he was not coaching and 06-07 in his one year at KSU.

This is not Barnes at UT. WVU will come to play, and in a manner that can take anyone out of their game.

Living off of some past success and Huggins rep at this point. I'm really confident especially at home.

Does anyone know if Staten is playing? If not, that's their starting backcourt that's out tonight.

This is what Coach Huggins said on Monday about Staten:

“Everybody has to be on the same page. If everyone isn’t on the same page, you don’t have a very good team. We all make mistakes. He is going to travel and we have two days of practice before Iowa State. We’ll see where everything is and where it goes from there.â€￾

My guess is he does not start, but does see significant minutes.

Need to make 3's tonight to loosen up the interior. Huggins' interior defense is brutal. I believe our boys do make 3's and they win by at least a dozen.
