I did a quick read through of the rule book (may have missed something) but it sounds like he is subject to suspension. My interpretation is that it isn't a sure thing that a suspension will occur. Thoughts?

I haven't been able to read this thread, but I was listening to the post game locker room show and wanted to log in to comment on Ejim's post-game interview.

Ejim his a very high character kid and for him to come on the radio and immediately apologize for his actions was pretty impressive. He was wrong in how he reacted, but he had a heckuva game and played very hard today. Anyone who watched that series of plays saw that Blair Jr. had it coming, but it's still no excuse for how Ejim reacted and he owned up to that.

The character on this team is pretty impressive as a whole and a lot of that comes from Fred b/c that's just how he operates. Let's compare this situation to the Cincy/Xavier brawl at the beginning of the season where numerous punches were thrown......the players involved with that were embarrassing to watch in their post-game interviews and I'd be very upset if those were any of our players. In this case, Melvin basically throw himself into a player with an over-aggressive screen with intent........and then took full accountability immediately and didn't let it escalate. He also apologized before discussing anything in hist post-game interview. I'm very impressed with Ejim and how mature he is.......that goes for the rest of the team too.

Good win today Cyclones - Congrats to Fred & the boys!! Take care of T-Tech so I can dust off my dancing shoes!!!

I'm glad Ejim did it

Blair deserved it. He was throwing cheap shots at Melvin every chance he could. Melvin was sending a message that he, and the whole team was not going to get pushed around.

Love the fire Melvin brings!

If not suspended Ejim will not start so Booker or Gibson will have to step up. Royce really needs to start scoring for us again.

The ref's finally made the right call, it was stupid on ejim but they had lost control and took it out on a player.

Overall I love how unselfish the team is, numerous times they just kept passing until they found the wide open shot. I also love how well they play with royce on the bench, very reassuring.

I did not like his actions, but glad he stuck up for himself and team, Blair is a cheap shot artist and nothing more. So who would have done the same thing on this board? You are in the moment and tired of the cheap shots what would you do in the same situation? Me, I would have kicked him square in the nuts did the discount double check and left for the showers.

My scan-through of the rules came up with fighting being the only thing that is specifically called out as a game suspension.

This is true...to say it wasn't a dumb move by Melvin is what is idiotic.

Most people aren't saying it was a smart thing to do. People are saying to ignore that the frustration of ridiculous no-calls are what led to it are the definition of naive. People are basically just saying it's understandable because they saw the 3-4 dirty OU plays with no call that led to it.

Both can be true, there's no mutual exclusion. He shouldn't have done it, but competent officiating means the situation never even happens.

It seems that Ejim's ejection is going to dominate this thread, and that's cool, but I just want to take a moment to say:

Percy Gibson! Loving the way he's been playing the last 3 games. Making the most of his minutes. Great game, today. So excited to see him develop going forward. A southpaw big with a very competent post game can be a huge matchup problem. By the time he's a junior, he's going to be a monster.
