... and it’s shiest comment like this that is messed up. Get a life! You probably bitched like that when he lost.

Prohm’s team - they will get there.

Maybe an ill timed joke on my part. I’ll be like Prohm on this one and apologize, say it was my mistake.

Probably true but let's say you had Barnes and McDermott(player not idiot coach) and some other in-state talent and went to the Final Four. Not ONE OUNCE of extra satisfaction doing it with them versus out of state roster? None??? Don't believe it. Look how much the hometown/state boys like Fred are revered when they are successful.
Idgaf where they are from. As soon as they play for Iowa State they are cyclones and Iowans. What town they were born in and grew up in means nothing. Obviously doesn’t for Iowa fans either since they can’t show up to support their “Iowa” players.

Is this really a topic of discussion? Anything outside of the metro might as well be China. Why would we care if a guy is from the Quad Cities or Chicago? It’s the same thing they aren’t from where I’m from.

I'm just SO glad we have Prohm and not Fran.

If Fran was our head coach, and had the results he's had, I'd still always be a fan of the Cyclones for sure, but I'd become very disinterested, not go to any games, maybe not watch all the games, etc. Just can't stand the guy and how he acts.

I didn't like how Rhoads acted either at times by the way for all you Hawk fans, but Fran is much worse IMO. I don't know why anyone would want to play for him? I can see kids wanting to play for Rhoads at least.

Not concerned, once we get Wigs and Solo back and the team starts to mesh we will be fine. It's all about March not December. So why no handshake - was Fran afraid he couldn't control his players - CSP had his team lined up.

It’s disappointing as an alum that we were unable to at least compete and keep it close. It’s obvious we have some upper clasemen looking to get numbers and the results will be blowout losses until they accept their roles. It was embarrassing.

TH, THT, Wig, Cam and Michael.

It sucks getting blown out and then being called SOFT... but not much you can rebuttal when it’s the truth.

It can happen, look what Coach Dresser has achieved over just one year!

Getting blown out still sucks though.... **** it sucks.

The loss was disappointing, the mess at the end of the game was unfortunate for all involved, but I am curious what this team will be when it is made whole once again.

I do not understand the entire Lard saga; the transition to college can be hard, especially when one goes from being the Big Man on Campus to being a role player, from being the star pupil to being an academic face in the crowd.

While I'm at it: For those hoping that the McCaffrey Jr's of the world will receive their just desserts come conference play, college athletic history has shown that justice is almost always never served. It's not right; it's just reality.

The game day posts are at turns illuminating, educational. hilarious, occasionally surprising, and always, entertaining. Thanks! All the way to Lincoln Way.

You should probably just stick with wrestling, you may have a chance to understand that sport.

This is laughable. The end of the game was a fiasco, but wow is Fran delusional if he thinks he and Cook were making the peace. Further, his "if anybody knows me" comment is absurd, as his historical behavior is probably the ONLY reason this whole thing happened. That dude is not a leader, coach maybe, but not a leader. It's a freaking shame he's allowed to influence young men, frankly. My opinion, of course.

Pretty sure that's Prohm speaking.

Do you think Iowa cares more because they have more players actually from the state? Seriously, not talking sh*t. Would be hard to root for an entire roster (other than annoying Jacobsen now) from out of state. You've got to admit if half your team was from Iowa, you'd be more proud of their accomplishments.

What is this obsession with some (not all) Iowa fans about having kids from in state?

If ISU could find a 5 star shooting guard in one of those caravans coming up from Central America I would figure out a way to get him asylum so he could play hoops for ISU. If that meant some kid from Traer lost his starting role so be it. I simply care about the name of the front of the jersey

Think Duke fans are proud of their team's accomplishments? or will they be tainted because they have only 1 NC kid on the team How about Kansas?

The game itself tonight did not bother me, Iowa was the ranked team, in what amounted to a must win to get out of a losing streak. They played really hard and it was ISU's first true road game.

Tell you what if Fran had a choice between having Wieskamp come to Iowa or Zion Williamson , who would he take?
