Well, everything that could go wrong, did.

Poor on offense.

Poor on defense.

Iowa was crazy hot.

Iowa got the calls.

Iowa got the favorable bounces.

We were due for a bad game. Their backs were against the wall and they pulled out all the stops.

Annoying to lose to those bozos, but it happens in a rivalry game on the road. On to the next.

Lol

Does Iowa play up for this game. Absolutely. Fran plays up the ISU game like McCarney used to play up the Iowa game in football.

That’s actually really insightful. I’ve always thought the two macs are pretty similar

And get the ball, I can’t blame him if he gets upset because he never gets a pass when he is open. Same thing happened last year

There have been a lot of stupid comments made by the “fans” in this thread, trying to compete for the title isn’t something you should strive for. Yet here you are

several comments regarding this thread
1 - Prohm is a good person and good coach
2- iowa deserved to win, they played well
3 - I think iowa will have a good season and have a 50/50 chance to make the tournament - especially if Moss is that good of a shooter
4- we did not quit
5- THT has a lot of talent. Must learn a good shot from a bad shot. Did well when he drove to basket. He will be back next year.
6 - rebounding was the key to our loss, missed free throws did not help
7- defense was not good. You do not give up 98 and win. Part of that was rebounding. If we got a stop, they got the ball back too often
8- the first fight was Iowa’s fault. I think the ending was our fault
9- we missed Solomon Young guarding Cook. We had no answer. Got a few steals early but he dominated inside
10 - I am a big believer in the “situation” surrounding a game. That all favored Iowa tonight. Must win, home court, coming off two losses
11- I was disappointed in our ability to defend the three point line
12- we knew it would be their size vs our quickness. Size won tonight. We stopped Garza, but had no answer for Cook. sometimes small ball works, sometimes not.
13 - we will have a good season
14 - not sure about Lard yet. I think he will eventually be effective.
15- we were our best tonight when we drove it to the bucket
16 - it’s a big game for both teams, regardless of where you call home
Just my opinions

I can’t believe someone had a 15 point post and I pretty much agree with every point. Well said.

I think point 15 explains point 12. Also, I thought Lard was great once he got to play extended minutes in the second half.

Thanks - agree with you, Lard showed some promise. Not convinced he should have done the behind the back pass - but it was perfect.

I added point 16

Probably true but let's say you had Barnes and McDermott(player not idiot coach) and some other in-state talent and went to the Final Four. Not ONE OUNCE of extra satisfaction doing it with them versus out of state roster? None??? Don't believe it. Look how much the hometown/state boys like Fred are revered when they are successful.
Georges Niang is from Massachusetts. I daresay he is nearly the same fan favorite level that Fred was as a player.

I love the players that choose Iowa State. Where they are from is immaterial.

There are only two words for that game. SUPER. BOWL. What the hell is wrong with Iowa? I actually felt bad for Bohannon that game, he looked like he didn’t want to go along with that game plan.
