Hawks would be plenty happy if they make the NIT and they are well on their way to reaching that mark. Those fans even think they had the better season when they reach the NIT final four than when we’ve lost in the 2nd round of the NCAAs.

There's something very pure about watching Matt Thomas shoot a three - I'd forgotten that.

Iowa had the ball and a six point lead with a minute left and lost in regulation.

Then this happens...

That three that Matt hits on that play... So cold, methodical, almost Terminator-que... To step aside the charging defender and just drill the thing. Just another practice shot.

Beautiful and terrifying at once.

I know Monté deserves the credit for hitting the game-winner, but that was a bigger shot.

I forget already, but Jameel McKay was really something as the in-bounds defender on that full court press, too. So disruptive and almost unbelievably fast up and down the floor when he was engaged.

He caused a turnover or two in that big comeback against Texas in Kansas City the same way. He seemed to have a knack for anticipating that pass.

Yeah, I might have to go back and listen to the sound bite for myself. What he supposedly said makes zero sense. If they had low postseason expectations then the Iowa game would be huge, right? I'm wondering if he said or meant to say that ISU has postseason aspirations and therefore this game isn't as meaningful to them(still kind of a dumb thing to say, but at least it makes a little sense).

Listened on the way home, and the way it does sound like that was misinterpreted (or misstated) as the way they talked about their poll question didn't sound at all like they expected ISU to miss the tournament.

Win tonight in their house, and we will get a welcome back party to the AP rankings. Meanwhile we can smirk at the Hoks as the AP tells them not to let the door hit them on their way out. The TOE getting ranked so high after beating a vastly overrated Oregon team shows why preseason rankings are pointless. Go Cyclone!!!

I got to watch him at Indian Hills a handful of times, they pressed for 40 minutes and he was always on the ball. As sloppy as the ball handling is in juco , it almost wasn't fair.

I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Both the Cyclone Men's and Women's BB teams seem to be able to play defense this year. I'm confused but I like it.
