As soon as that went 4 wide, it was just a matter of time.

What happened to the Daytona when you would have 50+ lead changes and last lap passes? That was fun and exciting. This kind of racing sucks.

My favorite Jeff Gordon memory: when burnouts became cool and obligatory, he tried to after a win and stalled his car. everyone laughed at him. I can't remember when that was.....98 or so.???

You can't make this stuff up. The #3 spins out Jeff on his last Daytona 500 lap ever.

I think Fox has showed 30 minutes of NASCAR and 2 1/2 hours of commercials. This is ridiculous.

And 15 of those racing minutes were "Dale Jr. performance update presented by Nationwide" and 10 Aflac pitches.

A good last 30 laps, terrible finish, awful broadcast. And NASCAR wonders why ratings are down.

I know nascar is driven by the sponsors but it's getting a little ridiculous. I think the best one was them saying (after coming out of commercial like 90 seconds earlier) 'Well the production truck says we've got to go to commercial but thanks to Aflac we're going to keep you right here!' Then shrunk the shot and put aflac banners around the entire screen.

Well, the NASCAR fanbase is the group of biggest whiners. Even with no complaint - tons of gripes.

That said, I would like to see fewer commercials but I've noticed the Daytona 500 race is by far the worst - likely due to the importance and the plate races are just long.

Irony - same fans complaining about safety yesterday were griping that NASCAR threw the yellow today and didn't let the race finish under green.

Really an awesome race. Not the finish we wanted, but that really was only for the last part of the lap. Knew a wreck was coming, no way it could stay clean. That 3 wide 200mph insanity was awesome to watch.

I did laugh at that one.
