Strange recruiting. I thought we would get Ben Carlson and miss in Xavier. No I tend to think it’s the exact opposite

Anybody have any info on who Xavier played AAU with? How his stats looked?

I have a hard time getting any definitive read on the kids game from his IA HS game clips

Xavier has played with Pure Prep out of Urbandale in the past. It's hard to gather stats in the AAU scene but he plays on the perimeter quote a bit and also serves as their rim protector. He has been in some high profile camps for a few years now, that has most likely been his best exposure.

This is a scouting report of Foster from Eric Bossi at Pangos.

Anytime a big man goes to an All-Star camp type setting he can't rely on getting many touches because there isn't much offense designed to get them the ball, but

Xavier Foster
has it figured out. The five-star from Iowa just played with tremendous energy and let his athleticism along feel for things as a defender and rebounder take over. The result was one of the best performances I saw all night.

Perhaps the best big man prospect from the state of Iowa since Raef Lafrentz who graduated high school all the way back in 1994, Foster is major target of Iowa and Iowa State and has been on campus at both schools. They've offered along with Baylor, Texas A&M, Missouri, Creighton and Illinois. Foster has also been on campus at Kansas and said that the Jayhawks are starting to turn things up a bit.

Funny he reminds me of a poor mans Raef Lafrentz. That is a good thing. Raef seemed a little more polished at this point. Xavier is a little less aggressive at this point compared to Raef.

I could see that. If all you’re looking at is the stats. Otherwise..,

You’re joking,!right?

If anything, you have to be comparing Xaver as a sophomore/junior To Raef as a senior., or even into post graduation all star tourneys. Because the only “poor man’s”, IMO, would be the other way around.

He's a better athlete than Raef but not nearly as skilled in the post. It's more about how basketball is played today but X spends a lot of time on the perimeter. I'm not sure they are even comparable as players. Two totally different playing styles and body types. Both great players.

Lafrentz was a McD's and USA today All American, to call him a poor mans anyone is laughable.

Ralf was a seven footer with combo guard skills. I remember watching him at vets lead a break with a 360 spin at the free throw line and ended with a tomahawk between defenders. He wasn't a poor man's anybody.

Your clearly joking. Raef was a top ten recruit. Probably top 5 and long time NBA player. McDonald’s AA being recruited by every school in the country. Raef is a poor mans nobody. U must be really young

Rivals article on 202 players on the rise.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-upward-mobility

Jamari Sibley
Why he is on the rise: Sibley is a fit for the way the game is moving. He can play the four, where he's got good skill, athleticism and ability to shoot. Once he adds more weight, he'll also be a candidate to play some minutes as a small-ball five man who can trail and nail jumpers on the offensive end.

Recruitment: One of the most heavily recruited 2020 forwards in the Midwest, Sibley has offers from Arizona State, Clemson, Florida, Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, LSU, Marquette, Minnesota, Rutgers, Syracuse, USC, Virginia Tech and others.

Former targets Samuell Williamson and Zeke NNaji mentioned.

I know many see N'Faly ending up a Cyclone and I'd agree, but Dante has visited and the staff is still actively recruiting him.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bass-pro-tournament-of-champions-eric-bossi-s-takeaways
N'Faly Dante

"I get it, it's hard to watch him and not be taken by Dante's combination of size, college-ready body and ability to protect the rim. He's one of the premier shot blockers in the country regardless of class, and he's capable of dominating a game through his presence and ability to control that glass.

Here's the thing, though, Dante is pretty skilled too. He showed off a nice little jump hook. He can make a free throw-area jumper and should be able to do some things in pick-and-pop situations. But watching him dissect double teams and make the right decision whether it be to pass or go strong to the rim, I could see a level of feel for playing in the post that has been underrated.

Kansas had an assistant on hand and Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU and Oregon are prominently mentioned with him. He didn't miss a shot from the field and led Bel Aire (Kans.) Sunrise Christian with 18 in a win over Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach."

Joking? No, I was being sarcastic. To call Foster a “poor man’s LaFrebtz” was as ludicrous as vice versa. At least one person who replied was bright enough to realize that they are two
completely different players.

And I only wish I were “really young”.

They are very similar players. One is whiteand on is black . You also were not being sarcastic. You just were wrong. They not have the same type of game. Stretch 4’s. Both can shoot, run, and post up if needed. I have see both live several times. They have a very similar game. Raef is better at this point.
