On the Wheeler recruiting front. Crean has a grad transfer PG on campus.

@DMcDonaldRivals Northeastern grad transfer PG Donnell Gresham (@_ThatBoyRed) is on campus for an official visit at #UGA. Averaged 9.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this year. https://uga.forums.rivals.com/forums/hoop-dawgs.32/ … @RadiNabulsi

We better get wheeler or this might be the worst off season since the McDermott years. Losing wigs, lard, tht, Shayok and whiffing on all of our targets would not be good at all. No matter how you spin it.
None of these freshman are going to make or break next season.

Very true. However if you don’t keep the talent stalked u end up in a really bad spot of having to take scraps and that is not good. So we miss our primary’s and get secondary recruits that eat up scholarships for a few years.

I think Prohm prefers 1 HS, 1 sit out and 1 grad transfer. Or at least that’s what he’s discussed in the past. Based on need, Wheeler may by our #1. And he looks like our best odds too.

For now however, we technically only have 1 spot open. If we miss on the Hs kids, then I bet we’ll get more aggressive with sit out transfers, because we’ll be able to fill at least one spot immediately.

Not a good look if a can't fill scholarships. Not a make or break, but we always need players
Of course, that's why we are recruiting other players. I think they only want to add 2 freshman at most. I think they'll keep one spot open for now on the off chance that Wigginton or Horton-Tucker return. They clearly want a grad transfer as well as long as it's a good one. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with 1 more high school player, 1 grad transfer/ sit out transfer, and leave a spot open or grab a late sit out transfer of the spot is still open after the draft deadline.

Grill and Nadolny are visiting other schools along with ISU. I don't know why people are banking on getting them. I'm sure the coaches are hoping to get one, but are recruiting other players in the meantime. Its not an all or nothing situation.

There is a 50/50 chance that Grill or Nadolny don't make it as P5 players and eat up a scholarship as well. What's our success rate on freshman turning into impact players over the last 8 years? I'm guessing quite a bit below 50/50 actually.

It’s not about making a huge impact freshman year every time. Like Naz made zero impact. However, if you are not getting the best players then u are screwed. This off season if we miss on all of our targets would be a huge let down and I have to admit that.
