Grill has a lot more 'bounce' than Matt. IMO, the athletic edge goes to Grill.

That would be impressive as one of the things I really liked about Matt's game that doesn't get talked about a lot was that he was a better than average rebounder from the 2 position.

Defensive liability.

Harris is smaller than Wheeler though his tape looks like a solid defender, Both are listed at 5'9" but Harris was 150 lbs entering his freshman year while Wheeler is 175 lbs right now (per 247 profiles). Wheeler should be able to compete at that size defensively in the Big 12 imo.

A more athletic version of a career 44.3% three-point shooter (which is, you know, only the highest in program history) is not an unreasonable expectation at all.

:p

Those stats on Tyrus are particularly impressive when you realize he would come off the bench cold and fire as soon as he could! That and he was the energizer bunny. Can't remember anyone that came up with more of the 50:50 balls than he did off pure hustle.

I think grill has slightly better athleticism. I was just saying Matt was no slouch. The strength of Matt's game was shooting and defense and that's what he showed more of.

Can't say D was the strength of Matt's game his first couple of years. Complete turn-around in the latter half of his ISU career.

How do we even know this? You’ve seen maybe 5 minutes of highlights. It amazes me that fans think their judgment is so solid.

Why are you getting so worked up about this? Dude is an all state quarterback, jumped 6'8"+ in the high jump and is throwing down windmill dunks and alley oops on the basketball court. He is a better pure athlete than Matt Thomas ever was. Period. Doesnt make him a better basketball player though.

There's more out there than 5 minutes of highlights. You're welcome.

This was literally my first post about it. I’m not worked up. But I don’t consider most of us an accurate judge of anything based on film.
