Without reading through all these pages, am I seeing it correct we are in Sexton's top 10?

It's really hard to see that we're standing out with anyone other than McKinely Wright, Elijah Joiner and Terrence Lewis at this point.

We are mentioned with some of the many other kids we're recruiting, but it's usually in pretty sizable list and I don't think anyone else has visited so until that happens there isn't much to go off of. August and September will be really important.

I'm not sure I see this staff adding many big time transfers, so it's really important to get some kids that can contribute quickly out of HS.

I agree. I know it is early though and I think we will see how ISU really stands with some of these kids once visits start getting announced. If they can just get them here for a home game the chances of ISU landing them go up.

We'll get clarity on who is really on Prohm's radar after the last evaluation period specifically with Junior College targets. I expect the staff to take 2-3 high school players and 2 with junior college players. The staff will then fill in any 2017 need with transfers in Dec/Spring with the remaining scholarships.
I do think ISU will be a player next year in for a big time transfer or two in the spring. Prohm has already stated that is part of his recruiting strategy and there will be opportunity for big playing time available moving forward (especially if Holden and Bowie produce).

Lol. Did you just log on for the first time since the end of the season?

I agree, until we get some campus visits, getting committments from HS players might be slow in coming. We may not see much action until Sept/Oct.

I don't necessarily see that we need HS kids who can make an immediate impact. I look at the 2017/18 roster and see Jackson, Babb, Long, Young, Kasongo, Carter or Lard as a pretty good core returning.

Kids like McKinley or Lewis could be first guys off the bench, but not sure we need them to make huge contributions as freshman. If we have a big gap on the 2017/18 roster is perimeter shooters. I would think that is where the staff might look for immediate impact JUCO's or immediate eligible transfer.

Let the speculation on Nick's top 5 begin. Miss St is a given but I do think ISU will make the cut.
I believe the staff will be in attendance at his last evaluation tourney in Vegas this weekend.

@JKim97 2017 four-star PG Nick Weatherspoon will cut his list to 5 schools after this weekend - decision coming very soon, he tells @Phenom_Hoops.

@BLUEchip_Miller Nick Weatherspoon is currently considering Iowa St, Louisville, Ohio St, Mississippi St, LSU, Memphis, UNC, NC State, Indiana and Georgetown

Not sure I even get your point, unless you think Bowie, Holden and Kasongo are big time transfers.

I don't think they are. They were barely recruited, and certainly didn't have any top 25 options. I still think they were good gets for us, because they fill a role in our front court, but we will need some guys that can score at a B12 level and create their own offense.

I'm not worried about getting role guys like them, but we need at least 2-3 more players who can average double digits without depending on their teammates to create their shots when necessary.... Or at least develop into that.

Did we get anyone who was "big time"?

Holden and Bowie are both about as big as you can get with 5th year guys. We have Nick Babb coming off his sit out year. We got Kosongo to sit out this year.

Holden chose us over Illinois, Cincy and WVU
Bowie chose us over Creighton, Marquette, and Nevada

What are people's expectations? That's a lot of good transfer activity.
