Whether I think we can win 3 straight games is irrelevant at this point - I only care about what's in ISU's best interest, which is why I'm a big fan of chaos at the moment - because ISU is going to need a lot of chaos on top of 3 straight wins in order to even have a chance at the playoff (which would be where a 4th win comes in).

Depends if Colorado losing one game is ”chaos”. The scenarios where Colorado wins out but ISU gets in are definitely total chaos.

Crowd was dissaponting tonight. Great game by the team though. I hope we aren't so spoiled as a fanbase that we aren't willing to show up for a 7-2 team.

I have been disappointed with the constant negativity surrounding this team. The kids have battled despite shortcomings and injuries. By ISU standards 8-2 is a great year with at least 3 more opportunities.

True Story:

Wife went to bed when it was 17-10, so I headed to the Pub to watch the end of the game.

Sat down, and a few minutes later somebody (wearing a CatLyn Clark t-shirt) sat next to me on my left. Fussed about the ISU black uniforms. He was a Panther-Hawk. Got a little testy and explained that plenty of teams across the country wear black because of the kids, and none of those teams need to run it by the Hawkeyes.

Kept chirping, and I told him that Iowa could wear paisley and purple, and ISU would still be wearing black tonight for reasons that had NOTHING to do with Iowa. I also mentioned about Iowa copying the Steelers uniforms in the early Fry days. He finally conceded the point, and we moved on.

JFC, what is wrong with these Tavern Hawks and in this case a Tavern Panther-Hawk! Bought him a drink though - just to be nice. Ended okay.

**** 'em.

BTW, the Jameson and Ginger was good and flowing.

Let's Go State! 8-2 *******! Let's beat the Utes to a pulp next week.

:)

Sorry but it was a gorgeous night. A winter coat and a hat was sort of needed. But not really.

It was a hell of a lot more pleasant than the first two home games temperature wise.
It's not about that. Just travel back after the game. Just saying that a day game would have had a better crowd - which would have included ME! Glad ISU won. Very happy with that. If playing at night helps ISU win the game, I am fine watching on TV at home. :)

Let's Go State!

The crowd caused a false start so there is that. Another TD drive on the first possession by the opposition takes some wind out of the crowd.

Its kind of amazing how bad the offense looked in the first half and the OL was nothing but pure garbage and then in the second half where we start hitting the edges and not just straight up the middle and started attacking Cincy to counter what they were doing... my word, we all of a sudden rushed for 140 yards and over 250 yards of offense and scored 24 , okay 17 points till a garbage time one , but still, was much better. Still not elite but much better.

Almost like being too predictable factors into how the offense and offensive line plays. So weird.

We are all counting 9-3 regular plus a hypothetical bowl game win as a "10-win season", right?

Excluding 1906 when we played the likes of Cornell, Coe, Morningside, Grinnell, and Drake, Iowa State has never won nine regular-season games, both 2000 and 2020 teams had eight regular-season wins then won their bowl game to get to nine wins.

What was the deal with the Cincinnati team huddling around the officials after a penalty flag was thrown? Was it to try and intimidate them?
