Way up there
Heise may not have shot the ball well but he was the leading rebounder. They had a bit of a size advantage against our smaller lineup but Nate helped us hang in there on the glass plus guarding Williams was a tough ask but he held his own. He is the key to the small ball lineup.

Heise didn’t shoot well but rebounded well, played good D, and passed well.
Yep, he was pretty good I thought. Need to hit a shot or two but love his defense. Credit the Tech kid on making a tough shot.
Stats only tell part of the story. Watching the game, you did not want either one touching the ball there at the end. And Heise was getting worked in OT before he fouled out. Relatively speaking, they played terribly.
wow, give the Anderson kid credit. That was great defense by Heise on that made jumper. I thought he was really solid on defense. Sometimes the other guy makes shots. Clearly TJ feels comfortable with him out there and that’s works for me.

Yes, plus 9 rebounds. The defense was critical, the airball in ot was bad, but he played 31 minutes in a win in a tough environment. TJ feels he deserves to be in there even when the offense isn't there.

‘Experts’ on here are tiresome at times.

Sorry for saying your son had a bad game Mrs Heise.

But as someone who is an expert, which one of those guys (Gilbert or Heise) would you have wanted with the ball in their hands at the end of the game today? Guys have bad games offensively. It happens. You don’t have to white knight for these guys.

I think it was key late in regulation & then in OT we played small ball with JJ as our big & Heise as the next followed by our 3 pure perimeter players. On defense it allowed us to switch ball screens rather than go under, which we struggled with quite a bit during most of the game.

Gilbert struggled at times, but man his defense in the 2nd half & his steals were huge. Dishon had some struggles on defense, but he was pretty key at the start of the game getting us some buckets so we weren't down by more- plus I think he drew a foul or two on his defenders. A player is going to have to deal with games where things just ain't working on their personal game, but they'll always have to opportunity to do their job within the framework of the team, and that is what we witnessed today. Just a gutsy win to carry the team into the next big game, but in this league they all are pretty much big games.

It’s all good. Enjoy.
