Totally disagree. Heise’s defense and rebounding are super valuable for this team. He also is above average 3 point shooter who is obviously in a slump. It happens. He will come around.

I agree, his defense and rebounding are great, but he’s not an above average 3 point shooter.

I've been real critical of tj not adjusting in past years, he's done a good job this year. Really tries to buy time till the end of game and then gets the right lineup on the floor. Great job.
One of TJs end of game strengths is the ability to listen to his staff and play accordingly - never the same substitutions from game to game. Go to specific strengths at specific times. Overall staff win!!

If you had drawn up what TTU needed to do to win that game, they did it all. They made more threes (9-6), more FTs (19-17), had more offensive boards (16-9), and forced us into 15 TOs. We had no business winning that game.

And it took 2 FT misses from 90+% FT shooters and their best player missing a shot in the lane at the buzzer. Amazing win.

Nate's only shot 25 threes all year, I'm waiting for a larger sample size here. He was a good shooter at UNI, 36% on four attempts per game last year.
plus he is playing an entirely different role on this team. he has to defer a lot more to other options on offense. it is going to take a minute for him to find a groove.

He had 100 made 3FGs at UNI on 34% shooting. That’s not bad.

I understand. But when I think above average, I feel like you need to be at least over 36%, a great 3 point shooter is over 40%.

I know it’s nit picking, but he’s not a guy I ever think will make it for sure if he’s wide open. For someone, IMO, to be considered above average, I need to have confidence will make a wide open 3 pointer.

I don't understand dogging on our players after a tough win.
Agreed. When you win a game like that it comes down to every play good or bad.

Heise did not have great offensive game but a big bucket late and lead us in rebounding. A good number in second half where I think we outrebounded them in total which was key to the game.

Chatfield looks ineffective if you look at the box score but anyone watching knows we lose that game if not for some very timely plays and other little things that don’t show on stats.

Even as bad as Keshon was at times he made some big plays. Great assist to Milan for 3 that cut it to 2 about midway through second. After missing front end of 1-1 at end of regulation he came back to make key free throws later. Also very subtle but his clear out in Lipseys drive at end of regulation was only reason that passing lane to Jefferson is open. Unclear if that’s a drawn up play or just good awareness but we don’t tie without his effort that last play.

That percentage will inevitably go down due to level of competition. It happens to pretty much any shooter going up a level.

it helps that ISU can play small and big in multiple ways.

Heise, Milan, JJ, Jackson, and Chatfield can pair up with the 3 guards for some really unique and efficient groupings.
