He was in down the stretch and at the end. I would hope that’s a sign it’s not too bad.
I don't know if we'll make it there as the tournament is so random, but this is the type of game a team needs to have in their pocket to get there. Even the most deserving teams will likely run into a game like this.

He played tough but was having a hard time on D. Someone who can go real small might be a bit of an Achilles heel.

I'm happy this team found a way to gut out a tough win against a really good team in a hostile environment. Lots to learn from.
Tech equalled our toughness and hustle today. We shot poorly from the FT line and gave up rebounds we normally don't and STILL managed to pull it out. Jones, Jefferson and Chatfield were the difference makers today.

Jones kept us in it. Jefferson had the clutch plays down the stretch. Shot to send it to OT, then the FTs to clinch it. Among some other key shots and rebounds.
We were plus 11 with Lips in the game for his 33 minutes. So -10 without him, it was real obvious we had major issues without him
Great win! One thing I don’t want to see in the tournament is fast little point guards that don’t turn it over. Hawkins was great today and we could not speed him up and he threaded us left and right.

At first I was questioning why AZ was even in this conversation, but they just went into Cincy and WV and won, so fair enough. That said, I think they can win all 3. Not sold on KU at all this year, and while Houston is still a threat they're not exactly what they were last year.
Man! Lubbock has been so hard for TJ’s (for that matter Fred’s and the guy after Fred too) teams to win in. Love the grit and this team walking out of there with an OT win.

The book seems to be out on how to beat us (or at least compete with us): backdoor cuts, and hit the offensive glass relentlessly. Lots of teams doing that against us recently.
We're winning, so what do I know, but going hard for offensive rebounds isn't a talent/ability thing that some teams can do and some can't, it's a strategy that's decisively made, it has drawbacks and I think we need to do more to make teams pay for choosing to play like that.
