Really don't want to lose this one. Wouldn't hear the end of it. That said, it is 100% a possibility

In the last two decades how often has the road team won? 3 times? Mayor's first team beating a bad Iowa team. Iowa beating a 20-loss Prohm team 5 years ago? And the Niang kiss game? Is that it?

Believe so.

ISU is better but any one game can just be different.

ISU will need to be patient and smart on both ends.

Throw it inside early and often

I’ve seen the trend this season where we do that early and have success. Then, we completely abandon that and let the guards take over. It’s been working for the most part, but I just don’t understand why we don’t feed the post much in the second half.

Only reason I have any nervousness would be because it's Iowa. When you cover up the name, they're an unathletic team that doesn't play defense who relies solely on making 12+ threes a game. I've said this before, but the key to this game is within the first 4-8 minutes. They're going to come out absolutely chucking and if we can sustain the first part of momentum in the game, I think we win. If they come out and go nuclear and we put our heads down, they will win.
This hits home with me. If Iowa doesn't come out hitting every last thing they throw up from outside in the first 10 minutes I say we kick their a$$ by 15+. It's when they have this nauseating way of all turning into Steph Curry at the dump that is Carver that has doomed us before. I'll be in the 13th row being annoying af if our team gives me a chance to. F Iowa.

I worry a bit about our trap, if you can reverse it 3s are wide open, if we just play them straight up man, I think it would be tough for Iowa, but we aren't going to do that.

On the other angle I won't trust a big lead for ISU early.

It's common in a lot of college basketball games for leads to dissolve quickly and there's been plenty of cases where Iowa's down big late and starts going bonkers in desperation.

And, even if ISU is up big with like even a minute left, Fran will keep his guys out there to try to make the score look better.

The argument you can make for Iowa tonight is that they mirror BYU from last season who boat raced ISU in their building.

Sure you could definitely make that comp, although BYU is far harder to play at than Carver. We actually played better at BYU last year than we have in Carver since 2014.

I agree, I’m guessing some of depends on the defensive looks. If Jefferson or Jackson are 1 on 1 with minimal help it needs to be pounded in there. However we should have mismatches all over the floor offensively.
