He's the top high school recruit, considered the top pick in the upcoming NBA draft, and he's a white American in a black sport. Are you new to college athletics? That's getting shoved down our throats if he's playing basketball in Maine.
Lol, yeah, cause he’s white too. You are a moron.

It’s not a fitness thing, it’s an adaptation thing. Adapting to altitude takes many days.

Exactly I’m a mountain climber and no matter how great of shape I am in when I go climbing, I have to climatize when I get there. Best climbers in the world all do it. We can’t expect our team to go to Boulder and just be in good shape. It kills the best football players also and they are in great shape

Flagg leads a top 5 Duke team in PPG, assists, rebounds, and blocks? And he's doing it when he should be a senior high school? What qualifies as special to you?
He is averaging 16.3 pts, 8.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. These are good numbers but nothing like Trae Young did at Oklahoma. Flagg is leading the team in scoring but took 164 shots to do it, 46 more than the second on the team. He is also a poor shooter for a big man, only made 42 % of his shots this year. Is he a good looking freshman? Of course he is, but he's getting unwarranted attention from the national media, particularly ESPN, simply because he plays for Duke.

Ehhh, probably more about him being the predicted #1 draft pick in ‘25 since he was in high school.

He’d be getting this coverage at almost any school.

You’re proving his point. He’s just saying he wouldn’t get near the obsessive coverage by ESPN averaging 16 ppg at many other schools. This isn’t hard.
He's not getting the coverage because of his numbers at Duke. He was considered the top high school player in the country. And as a 17-tyear-old, he was the best player on the USA select basketball team (made up of players with NBA experience) that lost to the US Olympic team by one point. He showed he could play with the best NBA players before he ever played a second of college ball. That's why there's so much hype about him. It's not because he plays at Duke, or because he averages 16 points per game, or because he's white. It's because he's shown that he's ready to play with the best players in the world, and he should be a senior in high school.

This team is really ******* good and I am so excited for the rest of this season. It really is incredible what TJ has built in 4 years. I don't know how much is luck and how much is scouting but they knocked it out of the park with every addition they made to the team this year. Jefferson is the diamond in the rough. He is a potential first team Big XII player and I don't think anyone had those expectations. Jackson is a really good big body, Heise is a first team all conference mid-major coming in as our #4 guard, and Chat is a great big coming off the bench. I think an argument could be made all 4 of these guys are exceeding expectations and it could lead to something really special this year.

Tamin and Milan haven't been consistently "themselves" yet either.

If those two find their high gear plus the out-of-their-minds level of play we've had from Gilbert and Jones plus what the four newcomers have already proven they can consistently do...

Might see Auburn again in San Antonio with more than some surfboards on the line.

I couldn't watch the game live, so I'm watching it now. A few observations:

1) After giving up a 22-5 run and falling behind by 5 on the road in the second half, this team still has the confidence and poise to get back on track on pull out the 10 point win.

2) It was great to see Chatfield contribute like that off the bench. They are going to need his rebounding and defense during the conference season.

3) Even though Colorado shot nearly 50% from the field, I thought ISU's defense was good. The had 13 steals and forced 19 turnovers. The box score says ISU had 3 blocks, but it seems like there were more than that in reality.

4) ISU didn't shoot well tonight. That's going to happen on the road. To win these games ISU needs to take care of the ball and rebound. ISU had 10 fewer turnovers than CU and 7 more rebounds than CU. That's 17 more possessions. If they keep doing that they're going to be win a lot of games on the road.

5) The only negative I saw was the half-court offense didn't seem to be as efficient. Only 9 assists on 29 field goals.

Great win for the Cyclones. Huge to get that first road conference win. Like Cincinnati found out, there are no easy road wins in the Big 12.

All very good points.

#1 - felt a little like the Marquette game in that regard (although I think they just tied) and also like Iowa where we were behind for most but never really felt out of it.

#3 - my biggest concern so far this year is the defensive rotations. I know this is not picky given where we are and I don’t want to rile people up by being “negative” after a win, but the amount of wide open looks we’ve given up this year seems so much higher than last 3. Maybe my imagination. To your point we seem to make up for it elsewhere but something seems off.

#5 - the assist to FG numbers was probably down largely because of missed shots but we made up for it with an insane offensive rebounding night. All of those buckets eliminated possibility for assist and the miss negated several. Another sign of this team doing what it take to get it done.

I wonder when the last time we had that many offensive rebounds?

Scouts can help him fine tune his shot. With some good coaching his shooting will vastly improve. Dude is an athletic freak of nature and very few people have his athleticism. Stop ragging on him. Potential is there to warrant being top pick. As a Wizards fan (sadly, we are so bad), I'll be super happy if we get the top pick and take him.

We are really well coached imo. Defense is improving, but we don't have the bigs to switch everything with almost no consequences like last year. Milan becoming a threat to score even when they facegaurd/close on him. It's a work in progress but he's improving. Teams are sagging off of tamin, they must have told him to shoot a little in the 2nd half and he contributed. Once he gets his confidence he's gonna have a game where he just goes off.
Jefferson is an animal on D, the glass and in the lane.
We are just so hard to stop because everyone is a threat and contributes. A+ coaching staff as well.

My opinion - on some of the Comments in this thread, and in general:

1) great win. That was a dangerous game.
2) Flagg is very good. A young kid playing in what has become an old man’s game. Not overarrated.
3) great to have a winning record over Colorado - but they were not very good for decades. Frankly, we had some not so great teams as well. Younger fans probably do not remember this.
4) Boyle is an outstanding coach
5) Jefferson is REALLY good, so is our team
6) I think a growing number of teams have figured out our defense, to some degree. I agree we are giving up more easy shots.
You must reverse the ball quickly and back cut us. You take the good with the bad - but our D in total is outstanding. It may be easier to know what to do, than be able to do it against us.
7) we wear people out. Really true in the Iowa game
8) I love Chatfield. Very tough kid. Plays D!
He was fabulous last night. He contributes based on effort.
9) with their huge investment the media is bias toward the SEC. They want to be B10 bias, but the basketball product is not good.
10) not since 2000 have I been so excited for BB. We have a legit shot to win it all. As a big fan since the late 1960’s I have not been able to believe that very often - like maybe twice.
11) TJ is very special. Very special.
