Beard got pissy a couple times when TJ was talking with the refs. He kept stareing over at TJ looking all pissy, even when he should have been coaching his team in a timeout.
It is minor, but he also walked to ISU sideline with :08 left while TJ continued to instruct his guys.

Not hearing the time out is inexcusable. I could almost excuse it if it were on the road where you could blame crowd noise, but our crowd is not loud in that moment when it’s our ball.

that said, I am not sure how this rule works. Some of the allotted 10 seconds to get across half court had already passed. Shot clock did not reset with the jump ball. Does anyone know the actual rule here? Should shot clock and, accordingly, the backcourt clock restart after a jump ball when possession stays with the same team?
Blum said it doesn’t reset but at least in the past it did. I don’t know if it changed in the last couple of years or something. I know a few years ago people were complaining that it reset.

I don't know, he was the one guy (well, along with Jones) who I thought were going to turn this game around. Carr is talented.
Disagree, I rewatched the game, his shot was off all night and he had some turnovers out of frustration. He didn't have a good game at all.

Speaking of shot clock. After we forced the 10 second violation on texas they left the shot clock at 20 and we air balled a 3. Shouldn't that have gone to 30 seconds?

Goes to 20 now apparently. I had never noticed.

UT got the same thing when ISU had a 10 second violation.

20 is correct since ISU was given the ball in the front court.

That’s a dumb rule.. Is it because the ball never crossed half court?

Our defense had them rattled all day. Almost every Texas player looked uncomfortable with the ball because we were like a boa constrictor on every possession. Suffocating defense. It was one of the best all-around team performances I've seen since the 2000 squad TBH.

I was pretty big defender and still feel pretty sympathetic towards him and respect him (Steve) as a man who always seemed to try to do right by his kids. But what the eff is this?

Is he crediting the culture for the recruiting of Hunter?

The fact he mentioned culture numerous times is the most confusing/baffling. Is he serious?

I've always respected Beard as a coach and the way he gets the most out of the players he has, but that is just a terrible take. Prohm was a bad fit here but he's a good guy. This is Beard using the moment to prop up a friend. It's a nice gesture but it's not grounded in facts.
