I follow the Morning Brew on Instagram cause they have some funny business videos sometimes.

They just posted one discussing professional sports franchises using tax dollars to fund stadiums. Specifically around the Chiefs vs Kansas City right now. About halfway through the video, all of a sudden some random B-roll of Jack Trice pops up even though it has 0 to do with this story. Totally random but kind of funny. Probably no one but Cyclones fans would even notice.

Haha! I couldn't get the vid, but nevertheless, any news like this is good news for jack Trice, and the Cyclones!

Huskers scared?

LOL! Husker fans are SO desperate for just any win, and for the most they can get. Rhule is smart and knows he can save his job by getting sure wins and avoiding as much risk as possible. They fired Bo because he only got 9 wins every year, now they long for those days again. (On YouTube there is a song "I Miss Bo" written and sung by a local Omaha radio personality Scott Voorhees). Now the Huskers run scared from Tennessee, a team they beat (with an injured Peyton Manning) in the Orange Bowl in 1998.

Vols told him fine leave:

This is a good reminder that these schools don't have to capitulate if they don't want to. Nobody is forcing their hand and making them pay. They don't have to price match. It's always their option to say "no thanks. It's been nice knowing you."

Hopefully so, but some desperate Coach/team will probably ante up.
Oh for sure. The kid will get paid.

Doubt the money is the main concern for the Vols. I am sure coaches are becoming more aware of how paying 1 player impacts the locker room. And without contracts, it's more of a wild west environment with other players and their handlers coming back with their hands out if they paid Iamaleava a lot more.

Im sure this wasnt an easy conversation for Tennessee. but this is absolutely the precedent that needs to be set for this IMO

Exactly. And at this point, I’d be surprised if a school has $2m in NIL available without taking away from another player. And that would absolutely crater a locker room. There’s a part of me that hopes he is forced to take a lot less to stop this stuff.

Have to feel like this is going to affect his prospects on where he can go. I bet he ends up in the B12 tbh. Could see Baylor or BYU spending a bit but $2M would shock me
