Haven’t said this much over the last 2 years but we were outcoached and outgameplaned today.

Yeah hasn't happened a lot but there was some things that were poorly game planned. Nobody had energy, classic trap game.

Honestly you could see one like this coming, haven't really played well in a couple weeks. Sure there have been some good plays and some good individual performances, but all in it hasn't been great. Everyone singing our praises too and it's just human nature to get sloppy, and that's what happened.

Just have to refocus.

1-17 from three; only 4 assists all game; WVU without their best player. Can't make the argument that the refs were awful.

They were awful and we played awful both can be true.

but especially down the stretch there were some terrible calls on both Lipsey and Jefferson. Those two foul calls that weren't fouls at all changed the game completely and handed the momentum to WV. You can't just say that doesn't have any impact. It does. But it is also true at the same time we played some really weak ass basketball today. If I was TJ it would be time to call some guys out in the film room.

Our apparently incredible guards got punked by one man. Bad performance from team, staff, and refs.

He was good on offense but they were literally hack a Shaq on us the entire game on the other end.

Why though? These are related. When you get wholloped when you go up for the shot... you're more likely to miss.

It’s just a tired excuse. We got away with a lot of contact too. We missed a ton of jumpshots with no contact as well

Yes, that was poorly officiated. But as always, you cannot let it come down to the whistles, one way or another. The offense seemed to have regressed 3 years.

I don't care how much the announcers blathered about referee consistency. That hack fest is not how basketball is intended to be played.

I think we lost this one more so than WV beat us. I still would say WV is better than both Kansas and Baylor, but Texas Tech was better than all 3 of them. Idk how to rank Arizona or Houston yet.

I know it’s easy to blame officiating, and yes there were some bad calls.

BUT, ISU didn’t play well at all. 1-17 from behind the arc. That’s absurdly bad. WVU also had 14 steals.

Those two stats are why the cyclones lost, not because of officiating

Don't worry no game in the ncaa tournament will ever be non officiated like that one was!

I more worry about NCAA tournament games being a 3 point fest and our ability to go ice cold at times.

Yes, but early in the game their "pressure" was really constant hand checks that went uncalled. Impacted our flow.

Because you refuse to see facts in front of you.... and its so predictable. You're a broken record.

You can't look at the and 1s against us and cujos ruin drives not called and claim these refs were consistent.
