I agree with the comparison to the Texas Tech effort against ISU, but I don’t believe WVU is nearly as good of a team as TT, especially with the current injuries plaguing WVU.

Texas Tech is an elite shooting/offensive team. WV doesn't have that fire power on O.

We haven’t played Drake since 2018.

He could conceivably be more familiar with us due to having watched us more simply because we were a local team, but yeah its not like they have a bunch of players from around here or anything (like all the random times we've run into some former hawk who has the game of their life against us)

I think it's more related to DeVries growing up in Applington, and graduating from A-P, then playing at UNI, than it it does his stint as coach of Baylor. Familiarity breeds contempt, and I suspect he is a crypto-hawkeye.

ISU team total is 71.5

We haven’t scored less than 74 yet. And that was Kansas and Baylor. 79 at Colorado and all others 80’s or 90’s and a 100.

WVU defense is decent.
The main culprit is WVU is 232nd in possessions per game.

We can play any style of game and play it well.

Unless we are dreadful from the Free Throw line or get into shooting too many quick 3’s, I see us getting out in transition and pushing pace just enough.

Their game against Houston was only 54 possessions! For reference, our lowest possession game was Baylor at 65.

Worries small will go off but limit the rest of their team and close the final 5 min of game. I’m anticipating a game where WVU jumps out to a quick 10-12 point lead before we settle in. It’s a hard place to play and WVU is a solid team.
