Number Retirement Clock Watch

With Ashley Joen's career completed, I will start wondering:
1) Why isn't Chelsea Poppen's number already retired?
2) Why isn't Bridget Carlton's number already retired?
3) Can you retire Ashley's number ans not those two? Without coming back for the COVID year those two would hold almost every record she broke.

Both of those should be considered before Joens (at least from a chronological standpoint). All three are VERY deserving of having their jersey's hung from the rafters.

I believe the criteria requires induction into the Hall of Fame first. Alison Lacey Otzelberger, I think will be the next one. I agree with the list though.

Pollard doesn't hang jerseys anymore. Otherwise Niang, Morris and Ejim would be up there.

It really is a shame isu doesn’t value retiring jerseys of deserving players and yes I know I know there is an alleged process and criteria

We are Iowa State. We don't really do this sort of thing.

Just for clarification, Iowa State does not retire "numbers" for basketball players. It retires jerseys. The numbers allowed by the NCAA for basketball (two digits each 0 though 5) are limited and if numbers were retired you might run out of numbers!

Loved watching Aus play. Based on all-time stats leaders though, not sure she makes it. She and Lindsey Medders are neck-in-neck in several areas. Since Lindsey hasn't made it yet, possible neither will.

This is my one frustration. The number of great players that have passed through here warrants much more than what has been recognized, and there's a gatekept wall that seems to get bigger by the day.
