Some Nebraska media have been whining all week about how the rigid academic requirements at NU might be placing them at a competitive disadvantage. (This from a school with open enrollment) The flury was prompted by Jorge Diaz' failure to qualify, leaving the MBB program without a big man. (No word about the coach waiting until the last minute) Hidden in the story is information that Diaz could have come to campus to take a substitute test - more transparency will follow, we're told. Does it seem so onerous to require that a student athlete be able to attend and participate in a class taught in English? ISU is represented as having a similar requirement, but, with a lower score. I don't recall a language problem for ISU.

That school is about as far from Stanford as DMACC is from Northwestern. Ever wonder why they have so many academic all-Americans that they always brag about? It's because their academics are a joke (minus the med school of course).
