I could throw for 3,500 yards against Big-12 defenses.

Gotta love ISU fans riding the coattails of the other teams in the Big-12. It's just a shame they have no part in the success or talent of the league. Take all the jabs you want at the Big-10, but the fact of the matter is you'd still finish at the bottom of the league almost every year.
I don't think they make footballs that compensate for your limp wristed throwing style, so 3500 yards is a bit of a stretch.

Pretty spot on. It's hard for me to see an ISU fan say "I've been to Kinnick for games other than ISU and the atmophere isn't nearly as good."

You also have no rooting interest - no dog in the fight, so it makes sense that in your mind, the atmosphere wouldn't be that great.

You realize that you completely contradict yourself here, right?

 Are you sure you read his post right?

He is saying that the atmosphere in Kinnick is so much better against other teams than Iowa State. But in the next sentence, he said that if you don't care about the teams playing, the atmosphere won't be as good to you.:wideeyed:

How is that contradicting exactly? For an Iowa fan, the atmosphere is bigger for those games when their's something on the line other than just pride.

The ISU game is a great atmosphere, but it's not as good as games later in the year where a conference title is on the line. You can almost feel the collective nervousness/anticipation.

I will spare you the obligatory dim hawk fan line, and try to be clear. It had nothing to do with iowa fan's reaction (I get that since you all seem to think that you are relevant nationally that you think the world revolves around you).

He was criticizing Iowa State fans for not being in awe of the atmosphere of Kinnick. Then he said in defense of why the "person" said JTS is bad, that he since didn't have a "dog in the fight" the atmosphere may not seem all that great.

Narcissism is a bad trait.

The person he quoted was me, and I made no mention of Jack Trice. He was agreeing with my statement that the ISU-Iowa game when played in Iowa City doesn't usually have the best atmosphere of the season. I gave this upcoming season as an example. If you think that me saying that the Wisconsin or OSU games that will more than likely decide the Big 10 championship will have a better atmosphere than the ISU game is some how a knock against ISU, that's a you problem, not a me problem.

OK, I get that simple things may not be up your alley.

What I was commenting on was the fact that he said, Kinnick was superior, and then he said IF you don't care whether who wins or loses the game (if you don't have a dog in the fight were his words), then that has an affect on your perception of the atmosphere of a place. That contradicts his attempt to be a smarmy hawk fan.

If Kinnick truly has a brilliant atmosphere, then it shouldn't matter if you are a fan of either team. Your senses will feel the electricity in the stadium. I have been to big games in IC, from Iowa State to Ohio State, and the stadium seems just as jazzed against Iowa State as it did against osu.

Now I know that flies in the face of the standard arrogant jack *** hawk who tries to downplay the game in case they lose.

I have explained this enough times, my 5 year old understands.
I am tired of arguing with you, you are now trying to play the victim. It is sad that simple concepts are tough for you, and I am sorry about that. However, when you don't understand after FOUR different explanations, then the victim routine that is standard hawk on here (or the arrogant ******* THH), while a classic, does not apply.

How could you tell how good the atmosphere was from the bar or your home? :jimlad:

Well, I received texts on the hour from others who were there. Unfortunately, being the tavernhawk that I am, I wasn't aware of the atmosphere until I found someone who could read the texts to me. So I missed everything.

But were you in Iowa City for the OSU game?? I was at both and nothing compares to the OSU game.

You mean the 2006 game that Iowa was never in? That osu game? I was at that game. It was funny.

There was some atmosphere was before the game, as that national juggernaut known as the felon/hawks and their fans thought they were going to make a statement....Of course it stopped once ohio state laid the hammer down. Then it was just a bitter hawk drunk fest. Full of profanities and stupidity.

Probably NOT the game that you want to have people think of there skippy.

You guys are so clueless, I guess that is what makes you all cute, kind of like Forrest Gump.

You were not at that game. I find it absolutely hilarious that there are always so many Cyclone fans at all of Iowa's big games. Go ahead and deny just making it up though.

I think it's obvious you were never at that game. Nice try though.

Of course it wouldn't. When you're at Kinnick for the Iowa/ISU game, you care about the outcome, don't you? You want Iowa State to win, and you're therefore involved in the game. Cheering, booing, yelling at the officials, running your mouth to opposing fans, etc. That being said, if you're at Kinnick later that same year (why you'd go, I have no idea, most of you people hate that place, but lets just say you had a reason to be there), and Iowa was playing a good team like Wisconsin or Penn State, the atmosphere in the building would be better than it was for the ISU game. Better opponent, better time slot, conference game....etc. But for the casual observer (in this case...you) it might not seem as good because you really don't give a **** who wins the game. You're probably cheering for Iowa to lose, but you're not going to make that opinion known like you would if ISU was out there.

That about sum it up?

Ooops, never mind, you got banned.
