Even though the effort is there for Heise, you can tell it is not "clicking for him" right now. On a fast break, he lost the dribble and got fouled before he could even get a shot up. He should have at least been at the free throw line. On defense, one of our guys (Keyshon maybe?) pushed Nate out of the way because Heise was out of position and not actually guarding anyone. I think he is just overthinking things way too much. It happens to some, but I didn't expect that from a veteran player. Hopefully, his confidence goes up and he starts playing more instinctively.

I keep thinking how we are overrated as I watch us play but than watch other teams play and yea we aren’t!
This is my constant internal struggle too. But then I'll watch a team like Auburn and realize yes they're really good, but wow the ball sure bounces their way a lot.

He’s been doing everything that’s been asked by the coaches; defense, offensive and defensive rebounds, cuts to the basket. Just hasn’t made some open 3s.

Tamin and Jefferson have similar 3 point % (.30% & .20%) but no one on here is calling those guys out for not shooting the 3 better.
I will definitely say Tamin needs to be a better shooter from 3 and the FT line, but at least he hits a much higher percentage in crunch time. Shoulder/thumb and whatever other injuries we don't know about plays in to this quite a bit. He's given a pass. Jefferson doesn't play a position you expect threes from. He just needs to be enough of a threat the other team doesn't sag off on him. Last night's game will help with that a lot.

One play I did notice last night involving Heise was where he came off the right hand side of the three point arc on a curl following the arc, and absolutely no one came with him, so he had a very wide open 3 from the top of the arc if he had wanted it, but instead he cut slightly inside and then passed it. TJ was talking to him on the sideline shortly thereafter and I'm pretty sure he was telling him to take that shot whenever it appears.

I’m glad he sunk one. His defense is elite and he works hard, but I know, like almost everyone else here knows, watching him offensively was frustrating before last night. Hopefully he gains some confidence from this and becomes more valuable offensively. We all want to see him sink a lot of buckets.

The Kentucky Alabama matchup last Saturday looked like 2 scary good teams that I would like to avoid.
