Had a tee time at the red rocks golf course in Colorado started pouring rain right before we were set to tee off. Didn't have the time available to get a rain check so got refunded. Course looked great from the club house. Other than that, I haven't been anywhere super fancy. Golfed at The Harvester a couple times. Very nice course.

Augusta National. My brother's roommate from college had a birthday party and invited me and my brother to play. His dad is a member.

I'm S*** at golf, but I couldn't pass it up. Likely a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Nice. Kinda funny story but two years ago for work a group of us went down to Augusta for a work trip. Boss that knows nothing about golf told us they had the hookups that we were going to be playing Augusta National. I didn't get too excited cause I knew her golf knowledge, and I was right.

Did golf "The Bluff" at Champions Retreat in Augusta though, which was still an incredible experience and definitely my answer for this thread topic. It was designed by some guy named Jack Nicklaus.

Billings, MT. It was basically a bar with a 9 hole par 3 out back between a trailer park and a junk yard. Only needed a 7 iron to play the whole thing, often times with only worn net ting between you and certain doom. Drinking and golfing was taken to a level that I have never seen before or since.

It wasn't the nicest, but it was the best.

Testifying
TPC Scottsdale for me. Hot as balls the day I was there and they had a deal about golfing during the scorching hours, like noon to 5.

Not exactly sure.
Not nicest but most interesting. Arrowhead golf course in emmons, Minnesota. It is no longer, last I knew it became a private course for diamond Joe casino.

In the mid 90s the river by it would flood it out. So there were only 6 greens accessible. The first hole was fine. Second green and tee had a creek through them and you had snapping turtles around you while playing. So you didn’t stick your hands into the water or even go near it because they were wanting to get a finger or toe.

Hole four was a semi normal hole. Hole five was near the water and the geese would chase you routinely. Hole six was a Tee box and a green. You had to tee off into hole four and play around the lake and then bring it back around to the sixth hole all while have mad geese and occasional ducks chase you. Turtles would show up at times also. The last three holes consisted of flags poking out of the water.

About half the time the clubhouse would be locked with no honor box. We would mention we played Before when they were open but would be told not to worry about it.

Played Glen Oaks just prior to the Senior Open. Buddy with WDM P&Rec got us on when they let the volunteers play.

Of more expensive courses, the Old Course (if you’re a golfer, you really need to do it once), Pacific Dunes (Bandon) and Chambers Bay are probably my favorites. That said, it isn’t on the same level of expense or difficulty to get to, but the Harvester is a hell of a track.

Where they love the governor
Not the nicest, but the most fun:
Taos, NM. Yes, there were dandelions growing in the fairway, but the price was right and we had a good time. It's a 9-holer that you play twice. 9/18 is pretty much straight uphill. Plus, it's at altitude, so sip those beer slowly.

Nicest:
Eagle Pointe Golf Course, Mont Belvieu, TX. Very pretty. Get the first tee time in the summer, otherwise, you'll melt.

Selfish plug:
Ross Bridge Golf Course, Birmingham, AL. My wife's retirement requires you play it. It's one of the longest courses in the world. And if you give me a heads up, I'll meet you in the clubhouse for drinks.
