Next year will be great!

The two things I see really making a impact will hopefully be the guard play, specially the point guard. And being able to put WJ and RC in the sf where they belong so they are not playing out of position. With the addition of brackins and thompson to the post along with jiri.

Is Boozer a redshirt candidate? Asking Garrett to start at point guard in the Big XII is asking a lot. There are very few that can come in and excel at that position. McIntosh had successful junior college experience and he's struggled. He may start over Garrett.

Jeepers, how much time to people spend worrying about how bad we are going to be next year when we haven't even finished the current season.

I am optimistic for next year just because we are going to get recruits who can fill in the gaps we have now and allow the current players we have to play the positions they best at instead of filling the gaps of what we don't have. But you know what, even if I am wrong, I would rather be optimistic and be disappointed next year then sit around ******** and moaning about every reason we aren't going to be any better next year and be miserable the whole time. :growl5cj: :growl5cj:

Did you even read the post??? I'll go slower for you this time.

I said that we will be a better team next year, due to guard play, and Alex Thompson. I also said that while we will be better, it may not show in our record.

Next I talked about how people need to stop trying to talk themselves into things. Wednesday, we were awful in every phase. As a result of that we got all of the "we are the worst team in the league," and "it isn't even going to be better next year," posts, some people even wondered if Greg was the right guy for the job, Whereas I a have said all along, that Greg will get it done here, and we will have consistent success, it is going to take some time. Now today after we played a good second half against Texas, people are doing a 180 degree turn. My question was if we stink it up against Oklahoma, will we see the woes me posts again. I think that people on here are for the most part pretty knowledgable, but that it is neither as good, nor as bad, as we think it is, so relax.

I hope that clears up any confusion you may have.

I would be careful about placing a lot of hope on next year based on the second half at Texas. True, they shot better, and came back but did you notice how Texas relaxed on defense once they got a 22 point lead. The game was never as close as the final score. But we will definately be better next year with more options at PG and front court, plus experience. I hope we go into fall practice with Wesley J. as SF and all other positions up for grabs, but I'll defer to the coaching staff to make those decisions.

I would be disappointed to see anything less than 20 wins next year. Inside threats with Brackins, Hubalek and Thompson. Outside Taylor, Dunson, Garrett and Staiger. Should be solid everywhere, just a little young again.

The way I see it... next year we won't lose to Drake, I think we'll have 3 more wins next year than this year.

We will also have UNI's ticket after Stout graduates. Yet I expect Nebraska and Kansas State to be much better as they get their recruits. Colorado may be in turmoil. Missouri will have to be better after an offseason. We play all these schools twice. Texas and Kansas may be less if people leave. Okie State and Texas Tech and A&M may not be as good due to key graduations. It looks like most teams will be huddling at the same quality with lousy getting better and better getting lousier. Boggans, Acie Law and Duarnt will be gone. It all means it will be one big MVC like dogfight to excel for all including us. We will be better but we will need to be.

With next year's team, I'm positive that we will win the games we're supposed to (Drake, UNI, the Squawks, Colorado!) and some of the other middle of the road Big 12 teams (Kansas State, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas Tech).

Unfortunately for us, kansas State will approach Kansas in ability, Missouri will be much better, Texas Tech will have better inside play. That is five games that I expect to find a better opponent. We need to get better fast because the Big 12 is moving on up with their new coaches. Big 12 will be better than MVC next year.
