Bonamego's bio includes this little nugget:

"His 2016 [Central Michigan] team upset No. 22 Oklahoma State in Stillwater."

Does that count Tech's 62-yard field goal in '21, or is that "fluke" category, and not special teams (or, could be blamed on "shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place")?

Both. Dude nailed it, and ISU's defense collapsed to even let them think of kicking it.

Also another game that ISU simply just didn't look very good from the start.

Analyst...does that mean he won't be on-field?
Typically an "analyst" doesn't work with the players. If they work with players, they are counted against the regulated number of coaches that a school can employ. There is no limit to the number of analysts a school can have (hence 'Bama having many).

well that's a little less encouraging but still a step in the right direction

He can still review game and practice film, and will regularly interface with the ST coaches to advise on strategy, tactics, drills - basically everything a coach does but with one degree of separation from the athletes.

I’m assuming whenever administration isn’t around, this guy will 100% be working with the players

Seems like a helluva resume.
Very nice pedigree

That was the game where OSU got an intentional grounding penalty on 4th down, and the officials (incorrectly) gave CMU an untimed down near midfield....and they proceeded to score the game-winning TD.
Maybe he can bring some of that Jedi mind trick, or vodoo magic dust along with him to make the officials 'mess up'. In our favor, of course.
