New Iowa license plates

There was an article in the Des Moines Register today that said, "A new state license plate is catching on with some Iowa vehicle owners." Yeah right. I think they look horrible. It is like there is some new federal government regulation that prevents them from having design behind the numbers. And maybe that is a good thing for safety. The strips across the top and bottom are cool, but overall it is not good-looking. Your thoughts?

I don't think that is the case since Illinois just changed their plates as well and they have an image going through the characters.

I had R1NG4CY ISU plates on old an car of mine. I just junked that car a couple weeks ago, and have decided to hang the ISU plates in my first home the wife and I just bought. One plate will go in the garage, the other in the basement (man cave).

Now I need to think of a new vanity ISU plate to put on my current car.

Based on where I drive around Iowa, it should be nothing but windmills.

My husband said state law enforcement requested no image through the characters, but what does he know?
