To be fair Naz Long said in a video that he wanted to help take ISU to the NC game. We all praised him for that.

In all fairness, both ISU and iowa have a shot at the NCAA MBB championship, just gotta make the tourney.

However, iowa's new recruit is for football, to which the odds are completely astronomical.

But there's no place for reasoning in the In-State Rivals forum.

Any kid that commits to ISU with thoughts bouncing around of National Championships is a crazy person. I like the never give up attitude or whatever, but NC's don't run through the state of Iowa.

nearly every one of our players will say the goal is to win the conference title. if you win the big 12 you have a realistic shot at a title opportunity. not exactly the same...but not that far off either.

to the kid's credit, you probably aren't going to win a national title if you don't believe in it from the get go. regardless of if you are at bama or iowa.

Quite a bit of a difference between the sports. Either school stands a much better chance of winning a NC in basketball than football.

actually iowa has been a hell of a lot closer to winning one in football than basketball lately

02 and 09 they were ranked 3rd and 4th

Yeah, but a high school kid who is amped up to play for their new school is a cracked up ho bag. How dare somebody have big goals (however unattainable they are).

Hey give the kid a break.

Iowa has a really good shot at winning a National Title...

in wrestling. He didn't say he was going to win a title in football.

Eh, kids say silly things. Especially when they have been hit in the head repeatedly.

On a long enough timeline anything is possible. Maybe the Hoks will drop to division 2 and own'em up ;p

It's not necessarily drugs, he must have just grown up a Hawkey fan. He doesn't sound any different than half of their fanbase before every season.

Like being ranked in the top 5 twice in the past 10 years, as was previously pointed out in this post?

Yeah and ISU was ranked 8 in 2002 for a week. If some ISU recruit in 2005 said he was going to win a NC, not only would he be crazy, he'd be ridiculed mercilessly on the hok boards. Iowa is just as far away from a NC as ISU is now...if not further.

I think everybody can look back at some point in high school and say, "Was I really that dumb?".
