SIAP, what's the word on this kid?
Wondering if he is from Assumption If so he is a 152lb state champ and the son of Pete Bush
That's him. Was the #1 ranked 184 for most of the year last year at Iowa Central. Finished 8th at nationals.
I met Pete at the Ankeny social. Glad to see Danny adding some depth at 184.
Also read Des Moines Register on Sunday and a kid from Des Moines North mentions that he is joining the wrestling program
Long time hawk fan joining the good guys!
Dad(Pete) is a disaster and has some issues.
How jacked up or drunk was Pete?
PD2 type issues?
No issues, had a nice talk with Pete. Friendly, no complaints
Surprised va tech transfer Degen hasn't come up. Will add major competition at 149/157. Very tall. Maybe he will be ISU's version of St. John. We could hope for similar results.
Is he transferring to ISU? This is the first I've heard of this. 3x Montana state champ according to his V-Tech bio. Would be a great add to the middle weights.
Good news! Welcome!
I heard it a couple weeks ago, but never saw anything official, so didn't want to take the chance of screwing it up. Should be a solid 149 pounder for us
His Twitter, which he looks active on, still says "VT Athlete"
He was at the C-RTC practice last night. I'm pretty sure this is the transfer that Zadick mentioned in his recent letter.
Degen is very tall. Hopefully he can add on some weight and challenge at 157
I think I saw Chase Straw name in last newsletter, I think he will be solid at 157 also
His dad is the head coach at Davenport Assumption. They've produced some good kids over the years, would be good to have a good relationship with them.
Not likely as he walks around 155-158. He will be 149 unless he gets beat out and wants to challenge at 157. Straw is one of the tougher kids in the room. May not be the most gifted but will go hard. Really think he could make a big jump in results this season.
Will Degen be eligible to compete this year?
