Although that's cool and all, I've seen a few cringeworthy ISU plates that haven't aged well for one reason or another......and when you reference a specific name of a player or coach or whatever, you're potentially putting yourself in a bad spot.

    It's a real thing.

I've talked to county treasurer employees who have related stories of people buying collegiate specialty plates not because they're a fan of a particular school, but because that school's colors match their vehicle. Such as, "My car is blue, so I'll get a Saint Ambrose or Luther plate. Those plates are blue, too."

I don't mind the look. My guess is these will be pretty popular with the classic car crowd.

The new plates have strangley grown on me after really not liking them initially.

Both...any. I wish they would have just went solid blue with white lettering over the multi-colored neon disaster they put out with an overgrown lawn.

Hands down the greatest plate in the Midwest, made possible by the most intelligent man in Nebraska, Ernie Chambers, also has the highest cost. Unfortunately you have to be a Nebraska resident. :(

But...but...the cops?! How are they ever going to see the numbers with any sort of color behind them?!

That's how effective the camouflage design is. The plate sample shown actually has numbers on it. We just can't see it. Kind of like trying to spot a mountain lion. :)

I like them. Florida has all kinds, I might flip an extra 30 bucks for one this next go round.

Selfishly I wish Arkansas had these blackout plates since it would go perfectly with my blacked out pickup.

I had those plate covers but finally took them off because the cops were targeting them and I was tired of being pulled over. They were great because they covered up all the Dordt college crap. The new blackout plates are a direct response to the people who have been using the blackout frame/dordt college combo.
