@Joe_Burrow10: I am excited to announce that i am committed to THE Ohio State University.  #BuckeyeNation

Thanks for the update DandyCyclone. Very pertinent and important information considering that he was ISU's only QB offer in the class of 2015. This is not good news fellas.

This was ISU's #1 target that was attainable. It's a big bummer. I'm surprised people aren't talking about it more.

It doesn't mean we can't get a good QB obviously, but he is extremely good and until hometown OSU offered we had a legit shot.

I don't think it was much of a reality that we could land this kid. You never know, but he's too good IMO.

Just looking at his numbers, you should have known it was only a matter of time before Ohio State comes knocking. Think any in state school would allow someone like him to leave without at least an offer? Hell Herman probably didn't have to do much besides say 'oh hey, were Ohio State...'

No ****. He committed immediately when offered. His home state, Urban Meyer, Ohio State.

And it was questionable that he was going to get it. He was close to the sweet spot where he was good but not a huge blue clip. He had connections here and liked Mangino. It's just a little unfortunate, and it was not a foregone conclusion or he would've been offered awhile back by OSU.

Has CPR said we'll sign a QB in 2015 for sure? We've got five on scholarship now, and none are seniors. If CPR knows about someone transferring, OK. But, he's said in the past he doesn't want to carry more than five scholarship QBs. Doesn't mean you won't try to land an exceptional one if you can.

Last recruiting season, he stated it would be DLC or no one. And now DLC is on the team. Just sayin'.

Reading his commitment story, he's talking championships and Heisman Trophy. Might want to reel it in a bit young man.

This would be why ISU should have gone above and beyond to attract Ryan Boyle. The chances of landing Burrow were never that high. Even if OSU hadn't offered. When you have a legit QB talent in your own backyard why wouldn't you extend an offer? Let's not pretend like there's a stable of stud QB's waiting in the wings.

Here's an article that mentions both Burrow and Boyle as players who's stock is moving up: http://247sports.com/Article/Several-movers-in-247Sports-QB-rankings-28534476

Other risers in the three-star ranks include Oklahoma State commit John Kolar and Joe Burrow out of Athens High School in Ohio. Kolar had a very strong performance in the recent Elite 11 regional and Burrow has been receiving very strong reviews from in-person evaluations this spring. Couple that with impressive film for both and we saw both as definite stock up types.
Another prospect that we think is a bit underappreciated nationally is Iowa commit Ryan Boyle. Though fellow Hawkeye QB commit Jack Beneventi was previously higher rated in the 247Sports Composite rankings, we’ve flip flopped the two at 247Sports and now have Broyle among the top 20 dual-threat quarterbacks nationally.

When basketball was in the toilet for 5 years, all people could talk about was football. Now, with basketball resurgence and freddy in the spotlight, football isn't discussed to the level it once was.

First of all, ISU will likely only have 13 commits in this recruiting class. 13 commits. The reason is that we only have 11 seniors. Small class.

Joey Burrow is the one QB target. And even with his commit to tOSU, ISU will still be recruiting him. Meyer pulls all sorts of stuff recruiting wise. And ISU will be there if Burrow wavers or sees things develop that he is recruited over. That said, I look for ISU to get Burrow or no one. Period. Too few scholarships to put another QB on scholarship just to have a body.

So in all the recruiting talk, remember that ISU has a maximum of 13 scholarships to give. And that is why ISU is setting their sights the way they are. Only 11 seniors this year. Yes, we are that young.
