No, I honestly want to know how what I have said about ISU in this thread can be equally applied to Iowa.

You made that claim, didn't you?
I've asked this before and I will ask it again, what the **** are you doing here? You got kicked off of a halk forum, so you decide to come to an ISU forum? Where the hell is the logic in that? Hmm, my own fan base hates me, better go **** off some more people and defend the halkeye tradition!

Also you yourself admit Iowa was **** before hayden came along, if he turned it around why can't ISU? Please explain your logic on that.

I have been banned from HN for almost a year. I just started posting here regularly a couple months ago, maybe a little more.

And how am I trolling? An ISU fan said pretty much the exact thing I did a couple posts later. The expectations laid out regarding sweet 16's most years and consistent 7-8 win seasons in football are completely ridiculous.
Not nearly as ridiculous as a fan base expecting a national championship berth in football a few years ago.

False, Iowa had plenty of success in the 20's, 30's and 50's. The 2 decades before Fry were rough but let's not pretend those define Iowa football.

That wasn't really ridiculous at all considering what the 2009 team accomplished and what they had coming back in 2010. Iowa didn't meet expectations that year, I have no problem admitting that. They still won 8 games and beat a highly ranked Big 12 team in a bowl game that year. Iowa's most disappointing season of the last 2 decades would be the ISU programs pinnacle achievement.

And considering Iowa has been knocking on the door of a BCS title game berth twice in the Ferentz era, it's not that far fetched to consider them a contender at some point again.

1-10 in 1999 would be Iowa State's pinnacle achievement? Iowa was also just 4-8 TWO YEARS AGO. Nice selective memory you've got.

The years Iowa was "knocking on the door of a BCS title game" were the result of weak Big 10 schedules due to unbalanced conference scheduling. Now that they have to go through a Big 10 Title game and a playoff, they don't have a chance.

Using that logic Minnesota should be one of the best teams in the nation. My statement remains true, you were **** before Hayden, what you did in the 20's 30's and 50's has no impact on today.

NDSU even refuses to play their in-state rival; big brother UND down the Red. You bison make a big deal out of beating FBS teams, so why do you dodge the only other major school in North Dakota? What's with that Lakes?

Not that most people care in Iowa care.. but I am going to answer your question.

The reason NDSU has not played _ND in football, is becaure our old AD was extremely miffed at that other school. It all started out when NDSU moved to FCS football and UND stayed D-II. There was an agreement, that the two teams would play each still though. NDSU needed these football games during the transition period. Pretty close to the first season of play, _ND decided not to honor their agreement and backed out causing big scheduling issues during our transition.

Fast forward to 4 yrs ago when _ND moved up to FCS, they assumed that the rivalry would start again. NDSU's AD was still miffed from before, so he pretty much told _ND to shove it.

As of now, _ND is a bottom feeder in another confernce. They kind of picked their posion in this aspect also, they could have been in the same conferences as us.. but they chose their own path. They also present no value in scheduling now.. since they insist on a home & home game. In reality, this is correct.. NDSU sold out every game in less than half a day this year. NDSU would rather schedule games against good FCS oppenants or FBS teams (to make money). Evidence would be, last week we scheduled a home and home with Eastern Washington (currently 1 or 2 depending in the polls in FCS).

The day that school (which I beleive will be soon according to some media) _ND agrees to play at NDSU two games, the rivalry may continue. As of now of course, the only dates available for both teams are 2015, 2018, 2019.

There used to be hatred between the schools, and I think it has only grown since all this has taken place. As you can see.. I dispise that schools so much I can't even put their whole name.. that is why it is _ND and there is no U there.

Interesting. Thanks for the background info. When I was at Wazzu, Eastern was a college, and a small one at that. Didn't realize they'd busted out of their short-pants status so thoroughly.
