No doubt about it, UNI was a good team. Actually, they always are. Nobody knows that like a Cyclone fan.
I dont think the injuries made any difference in the UNI loss. NDSU was the better team. Tough to know about the calls. I was at the game. I guess anything could have happened if only things had been different. Im pretty sure we would have had 4 national titles in a row now if we hadn't been cheated by the refs at Eastern Washington?
Im not sure how good NDSU will be next year? My guess is pretty good. I think UNI tickets are going to be a hot item in Fargo too. I love that stadium and the tailgate setup. Last time I was there we stayed at the Holiday Inn and walked the few miles over. This time we will probably drive.

Not sure who wins in BB NATEizKING? The Cyclones will be the favorite for sure. I think its a long shot we will make it. We lead the Summit league and will probably get the #1 seed in the tournament but anything can happen.

Kind of depends on what you define as a "starter". ISU will return i believe 13 or 14 different guys of whom all started at one point (and a majority) of the year on offense. I can name them if you would like.
Defense is a different story, but we return 3 linebackers who got significant time, 4 or 5 D-lineman who got significant playing time, and 3 corners who got some starts, and playing time. Safety is going to be where the playing time is thin. The coaches believe or two JUCO safeties are starter-quality, and there are some 2nd and 3rd year guys who were stuck behind Broomfield and Washington who i think can compete for a starting spot also.
ISU definitely has more experience than last year IMO. There are literally 6 or 7 different linebackers who might see time (one being our likely starter at MLB JUCO Jordan Harris).
So i don't know if you are saying that ISU will be inexperienced? The only group i would agree with you on would be a few secondary spots.
With your weakness at secondary, if you want to call it that, our QB may have some kind of advantage. He is a very accurate thrower but doesnt present the running ability we are used to seeing. Of course this may all change once Wentz takes the helm and gets more snaps. We have only seen him play here and there.
We have John Crockett returning at running back. He is very good. He will be joined in the rotation by Chase Morlock, a very good runner that saw a lot of carries for a Freshman last year.
A lot of the guys stepping up on our squad will have enough experience to be considered starters, similar to your situation, but we will have some question marks.
Saturday at 2 PM SDSU visits Fargo for a game that will decide the Summit league leader. Might be a good chance to see The BISON in action. wwwgobison.com will have free audio and premium video.
Ill be watching for a chance to see the Cyclones on the court.

I know Iowa State has been in a similar situation, when it comes to Iowa, as NDSU finds itself with scheduling and the university of north dakota. I think there was a period of about 30-40 yrs Iowa State never played the hawk eyes. UND quit playing NDSU 10 yrs ago when we moved up. They said playing NDSU wouldn't be fair because of the scholarship difference.
Now und has one of the worst football teams in the country and have had ever since NDSU moved on. They don't win and they dont draw flies. They desperately want to play NDSU but it isnt in the cards just yet.
They insist on a perpetual home/home and have turned down several single game contracts without counters. In that time they have never extended a contract to NDSU because they state it must be a home/home forever.
Well we have about 9,000 more seats than they do so when we are up there we are giving up at least $100,000 more than they are when they are in Fargo.
The BISON are also sold out as far as the eye can see so unless a big premium can be tacked onto the ticket there is no economic advantage to NDSU when Und travels to Fargo. On the other hand they will probably sell out the BISON game in grand forks. It will be the only sell out of the season so I expect the economic advantage of a home/home is well in excess of $100,000/game for UND.
Of course they dont acknowledge any of this. They continue to act the part of Thad and Chip at "teh hockies" game with their green dickies and frostbitten toes explaining how its typical of the cow college to duck them at football. It doesnt matter NDSU is guaranteed at least a 70 or 80 share of the regional TV market when the BISON are on, EVEN WHEN THE UND GAMES ARE ON! They dont realize NDSU doesnt need them on the "Big Stage" and doesnt even what them on the schedule for that very reason.
I just hope our AD doesnt sign with them. It will be a public relations nightmare with NDSU getting the worst of it. There is nothing to be gained. We would be better off playing the regional D2 schools and giving them a nice guarantee. ST. Marys Bismarck is almost good enough to think they have a prayer in Fargo and they are building the program for that day. I hope they get it in gear quickly and NDSU can quelch this media frenzy and push from und to resume play.
Best scenario 2 for 1: NDSU home in 2016/2017. UND game will be played last. NDSU plays the first two and buys out the und game. We will insist on a reasonable buyout price stating the possibility of NDSU having much better opportunities, i.e. a move to FBS or a big game with a BCS school. Take it or leave it.
That situation will give NDSU control over that very volatile public relations situation. If the university continues to act in the manner they have become accustomed they will certainly be bought out. if they go lay by their dish we might play the 3rd game.
That could solve the und problem for at least 5 yrs.

does anyone know if when he talks about tickets in that novel he posted today, is he talking about tickets at jack trice? that would be funny if he thinks they are buying a bunch of end zone tickets not realizing theyve been sold out for pretty much the last 5 years.
