JBB, you need to get another hobby. This game is the least exiting game of the year for cyclone fans. There is not another game on the schedule that I could say that I care less about. If I had to choose between our spring scrimmage and this game, I would pick the spring scrimmage. But I know how you feel, it is like when I was a kid and the only place we had to shop was our crappy little five and dime store, the local Gibson's (now Pamida) or Ben Franklins, it was amazing and exciting to go to Mason City, Rochester, or Austin and get to shop at a "big" mall. Enjoy your weekend in Ames and cherish your memory of a fantasy trip to a BCS venue. Hopefully you can relive your fantasy on a yearly basis with other BSC venues. PS, consider ice fishing, it may be a good diversion for you.

If you have season tickets and don't plan on attending, I would definetly be interested! I believe NDSU will bring more than 4,500 bodies even with the new team/identity.

As of now, around 25 or so Bison fans bought tickets through brokers in sections AA-CC lower rows. I paid $125 for 2nd row 35 yd line tickets for the KSU game, will I be able to find similar tickets for this game?

If anyone has any tips/tricks to getting tickets please let us know when the time comes.

-Thanks guys

Re: NDSU v Iowa State 2014 (after NDSU wins 3rd title & 43-2!)

From the recap found here: Towson Tigers vs. North Dakota State Bison - Box Score - January 04, 2014 - ESPN
ATTENDANCE: 19,802

I'll give you 9,000 NDSU fans in attendance for the game in Dallas. That is a great following for small time football. But please, admit your exaggerations about the attendance numbers in the posts above.

Not that it matters but NDSU did bring a number significantly larger than 9,000 fans. The pep rally sold out and there were 10,000 tickets available for that which was held the evening prior to the game.

On a serious note though I wanted to say sorry on behalf of the majority of NDSU's fan base for having to put up with the creator of this post and some of the things that he has said.

Tickets at the Fabulous Fargo Dome, one of Americas top 50 beloved football venues, are about $25. About 2/3 require some type of Team Makers donation. My last set of 4 cost me $500 plus $300 for tickets. These were good seats on the 40 but 2/3 to the top. Tickets are hard to get in Fargo.

We had a suite back in the D2 days. $1,500/game plus 15 tickets. It was worth it. Wish we would have kept it but baby things change.

NJC1684 makes a similar plea as I do. I would like some tickets for this game if you dont plan to go. I hope we can get tickets for $40-$50. I know the NDSU allotment, probably 1,500, will not make it out of the high donors club, of which I am not part.

Ive been to Jack Trice. I think it is good advice to wait. Things do seem tight and over-priced. The market may be waiting for news on the TV plans for this game. Could be the tickets for sale are pricing some of this in?

Its a big game in Fargo. NDSU is now 2-1 in the Big 12. A win here would put us at 3-1 and even the series with the Cyclones. Thats important. I think if NDSU is going to have a good show of it in the Big 12 and has a school they can look to for leadership its Iowa State, especially the school of Veterinary Medicine. NDSU had one once and should be gathering resources to start it again.

NDSU has a lot of shoes to fill but they bring back a solid core of starters and leadership. The QB will be new but has looked very good. The receiving corps is young, talented and proven good. Our offensive line is going to be young but experienced. Billy Turner, one of the best players on the O line since probably Mike Favor just graduated as did several other NFL bound players.

As usual The BISON will bring the ground game. It broke the back of the Wildcats because it was coupled with a dangerous passing game that had to be respected. Thats the big question this season: Can NDSU get the old formula rolling?

The superbowl reminded me of the average NDSU game. Stifling defense frustrates and eventually forces some mistakes. The offense is good enough to capitalize and the points mount until it breaks wide open.

Hope that helps.

BISON win big again tonight in Summit league action. They lead the league. Looking at brackets there doesnt seem to be a way to play Iowa State?

Tickets have come on line for section 6. 2 available @ $183

Huge winter in the northland. big snow, big cold, big winds. Looking forward to spring ball.

Stadium issues are all the talk in Fargo. It looks like the Fabulous Fargo Dome is not being maxed out as far as revenue is concerned. Several pricing models have been presented that will allow the stadium to maximize revenues.

Right now the stadium is probably producing 1.2 million/game. I think it can probably produce another 1 million/game by raising prices. At that point ticket prices will be high, demand will be strong and people will want more access to the games. It looks like it will be a 10 year procedure. It will be necessary to concede the downtown theater complex to that power base but the return will be a new football stadium.

This is by far my new favorite thread. Jbb, I know you're super worried about tickets and your rv and all that but you need to understand something. If you pay more than $15 for tickets to this game then you got ripped off. You act like this is the World Series or something. I personally will have prob four tickets that won't get used because nobody wants to waste their time watching a no name d2 school from Canada. I would just give them to you but instead I will probably throw them in the garbage at the front gate as I walk in. As far as getting that rv you've been talking about for the past 2 months parked, we have parking lots so you just pull in and park. If you can't figure it out, just ask someone in a brightly colored vest. Now lets move on to predictions. I predict that we will care slightly about this game come August. As far as this being our biggest game, this is a throw away game, it does nothing for us. Only reason I will even pay attention is because my cousin plays for your team and is one of your best players. He begged ISU for a scholly and didn't get it. He's still a huge ISU fan however and loves getting **** faced tailgating in Ames on off weeks.

Not only are we going to annihilate NDSU, we are going to do it with the littlest amount of effort possible. NDSU's players will cower in fear after the first play of the game when they realize how physically outmatched they really are. Physically outmatching NDSU is all we really need for complete obliteration. However, just for the fun of it, Coach Mangino will prep for three and a half minutes and create a scheme that rewrites the way that college football is played.

This. All of this. Some people bash the Iowa St vs Iowa being the "super bowl," but for NDSU this is literally, and definitively, their super bowl. LOL.

And boom comes the bad karma... I'm glad that a lot of you are so comfortable with the thought of playing these guys. I mean we did go 3-9, but we only lost to the top 8 teams in the country AND U-N-*******-I. Granted NDSU only beat every ******* team they've played for two plus years. I also get they lost a lot of talent and their coach to the coaching hotbed called Wyoming and all, but excuse me if I hate to see us add any bad karma to our new OCs first game.

As of today I expect a 60 minute game and will feel fortunate to walk out of the stadium on top. It was just 6 months ago KSU lost to them with an 8/5 record and beat Michigan in their bowl game.

I wouldn't be so confident if NDSU didn't lose almost their entire coaching staff and quite a few senior starters.

Of course, according to the 1-2 NDSU fans I know, their backups are better than their starters anyways.

Joe Lunardi's Bracketology right now has NDSU playing Iowa State in the first round, March Madness.

We didnt have any common basketball opponents but in games of note outside of the Summit league we beat Notre Dame 73-69 and lost to Ohio State 62-79.

Checked our common football opponents from last season UNI and KSU.

You lost to UNI 28-20. NDSU beat UNI 24-23. We both played UNI at home.

The Cyclones lost to KSU 41-7. NDSU beat KSU 24-21. We were both on the road.

NDSU has a solid coaching staff returning. NDSU has always been a good spot for coaches, especially since we went to FCS football. NDSU coaches start with the Head Coach at Jacksonville, Gus Bradley, all the way down to several high school head coaches. We even have an AD in the Big 12. I dont say that to brag but point out the coaching change might not be what it seems in terms of advantage. The head coach was DC last season. He was also DC at Northern Iowa and knows the Iowa state program well.

The same might be said of the graduating seniors. Lots of NFL talent graduated. I counted 24 seniors on last yrs team including the QB, top WR, great defensive players at every position and a lot of offensive lineman. The loss along the O line may be the biggest advantage but some of this is going to be offset by graduation at ISU.

The way I understand it The Cyclones
will have 8 starters returning on offense and 6 returning on defense. 1 of 4 in the secondary will be returning. Both teams may be having some adjustment issues?

NDSU just added its 12th game: Weber State. We will play them the Saturday (Friday?) after we play the Cyclones at Jack Trice.

The southfield endzone is almost sold out. It looks like it might be full of BISON fans. Sections 17 & 18 have come available. There are still tickets on all the hillsides, section 6, L, K & 1.

You beat UNI because of two horrible calls and our defensive leader breaking his leg on your last drive.

UNI was the better team that day and would have seen you again in the playoffs without a ridiculous number of injuries. Our medical staff literally ran out of crutches at one point last year.

Next year NDSU isn't going to be anywhere near as good and UNI will be better. You'll go 0-for-Iowa next year.

What's a weever state?

Seriously, we are ISU and not Iowa.

Both teams will have several new coaches.

Mangino will want to make a good first impression so expect him to come out throwing the ball.
