Reading a lot of the posts on the forums I've found out that theres a few people out there that are saying he will be a terrible recruiter, some think he will excel at recruiting. I've also read that we are just recruiting against UNI and Drake for recruits and i just want to say that is about the dumbest thing i have heard... I also wanted to say something about those complaining about the recruits that we got and how they will have problems since they are late recruits... If you were McD what would you have done not given out any scholarships and thought oh man i dont want to take a risk or went out and got the best he could with the given situation... or in other words would you rather have about 5 scholarship players next year or 9??? And if you are judging somones abilty on recruiting in one year then I'm pretty sure you are the one whos intelligence should be getting judged. Onto the part about just recruiting about Drake and UNI... I went on to rivals and noticed a couple of new recruits for the 08 year, Donald Stewart and Emmanuel Negedu, such schools as Arizona, KU, Ohio St, Tennessee, Memphis, and Boston College.... I know it may sound surprising but believe it or not UNI and Drake werent on those lists :|.. I think that everyone needs to hold off the judging about his recruiting until his recruits at least play some D 1 basketball... I saw somewhere Discombobulated was saying none of our recruits could compare to Stinson and Blalock beacause they were just special... well Discombobulated, i would really want you to check the list of schools that were going after Curtis... I'm pretty sure the other school looking hard at him was DREXEL!! So everyone just wait and see what happens!!

I agree, and also on the Stinson point, he signed without even visiting ISU because it was his only chance to sign with a big school. He wasnt even receiving major interest from the mid-majors. . . . . He turned out great, but that is what a great recruiter does, find talent. There are only so many five star recruits, and they are hard to get unless you are a national powerhouse year in and year out, or are a huge name coach. Everyone else has to find the diamond in the rough players and mix them in with everyone else to make a great team.

Noticed that 3 of our new recruits were 3 stars under rivals and only 2 stars under4 scouts (Dodie, Cory, Michael). I prefer rivals at this poiint. Jucos are not usually rated much for stars as they have already entered competition.

Now that we have 5 recruits, maybe they can play against each other a pickup game down in Des Moines - oldies versus newbies.

THe one recruit that I am very interested in seeing is Wesly Johnson... When i have heard him described he sounds like Rip Hamilton.. O.K. I know Rip is an NBA all star... What I mean is his game is like Hamiltons... Maybe not that good...

Actually Stinson committed to Iowa State very early, but by the time he signed he did have some other schools after him, and he really blew up his final year at prep school. Rest of your post is dead on.

Mac can win more with less than any coach I have ever seen [/b][/quote]

I hope he can recruit Big 12 talent so he doesn't have to rely on winning with "less".

I like and respect Mac has a coach but I am concerned that he never won the Mo Valley. Hopefully he can get it done at the Big 12 level.
