Surge in Covid numbers in Europe, passing cases in America per different article a day later in WSJ

It will be hard to gauge as the fall spikes kick in. Europe with 740 million versus the U.S. with around 330 million.

Surge in Covid numbers in Europe, passing cases in America per different article a day later in WSJ

Snapshot of covid in Europe:

Something is going on. Either the # of cases in the spring were orders of magnitude greater than the current reported cases, the virus has become far less deadly combined with a better understanding of treatments), mostly relatively healthy and young people getting it now, or massive amounts of testing are finding massive amounts of false positives or viral remnants in people that already had, and recovered from the virus. My opinion: a combination of all those.

Deaths are certainly not increasing exponentially. There are indications deaths have already leveled out again in Spain, which seems to be "ahead of the curve" so to speak.

Just got a call that my uncle from Ankeny - 80-ish - is in hospice for alzheimers, covid and the other basic underlying issues an 80 year old has... Been taken off all life support... He will likely be a covid casualty but his late stage alzheimer's is the real culprit...

ruh-roh.

Not sure if you read that article (fake news) or not, but the headline doesn’t match what was in the article. Let’s substitute local lockdowns with....something in between regulations and recommendations. Yahoo, I’m sure, got the clicks that they wanted by putting “local lockdowns” in the title.

Huh?

How do you define “considering a local lockdown”. Describes the article pretty accurately.
