Not sure if this was already discussed somewhere on here... but thought this comment from Campbell was interesting:

"A guy like Will McDonald, like where does he play? Is he a defensive lineman? Can he play an outside ‘backer for us?” Campbell said. “He’s a guy positionally that’s going to be really fun to watch. I think we think he is one of our best players in our football program at a young age right now and has a lot of upside. He’s a guy that I think could play any of the linebacker spots and I think he’s also a guy that can probably play defensive end and that’s a unique skill or trait. A lot of it depends on what does his body do and how does he continue to grow."

Replacing Harvey will be important next year... obviously some good options... but would be great to see McDonald on the field more.

it will be interesting to see. Kid would be a huge LBer, but the coaches are very high on his ability, so it would be nice to get him on the field somewhere. Matt Leo has really improved over the year, so it will be hard to get him off the second unit.

Way up there
I think he'll see a lot of time at DE but the staff will find ways to get him on the field in other ways. At times we saw interior DL guys playing end last year, I think we'll see similar stuff this year. It should be fun watching Heacock figure out ways to get all of this talent involved. A 3 man front with Ewazurike, Lima and Johnson with McDonald at OLB, could be effective on run downs. Add Leo to the mix and you've got a lot of size, athleticism and versatility.

Looks like a big, tough guy. Also like the burst of speed when he has the ball. Didn't see him wrap up anyone in a tackle until 2:30 in the video. Until that point, it showed him tackling like a fullback.

I wonder if they see him as a pass rushing 3-4 line backer, or if he would actually take one of the spots in the 3-3-5 we've been using.

That'd be a nice way to have him on the field with Bailey and Uwazurike with all 3 rushing the passer.

Thanks...how the hell do I forget him. I'm smh at myself

Ya... that is why I think it would be great to see if he could work in at OLB.... Bailey and Uwazurike will be the starters at DE, Leo, McDonald, Peterson, will be in the mix at 2nd string. I think they have a lot of talent there. With Harvey gone, there is a starting spot open. Understand they have options there. But would be great to get McDonald on the field... I think he will be good.

That's the way I took what Campbell was saying. Hello Lawrence Taylor 3-4 from hell!
