Might explain a bit of "cooling" off on Marvin recruitment by ISU.

Clark is actually high school teammates with Nairn at Sunrise Academy in Wichita, Kan. The two fell in love with the idea of playing together at the Division I level.

Clark is considered a three-star prospect and chose the Spartans over offers from Indiana, Kansas State, Iowa State and Ole Miss.

Clark -- who was recruited primarily by MSU assistant Mike Garland, and did not receive an offer from the Spartans until late February -- visited Michigan State on March 1 for the Illinois game. Clark's mother -- who also attended the visit -- knew immediately after meeting head coach Tom Izzo that it was the place for her son.

He took a visit to Indiana just a few days later but appeared already destined to be a Spartan.
