Lumpys! Dark, uneven floor, beer stained walls, great local bands, couches that you aren't sure you want to sit on but you love it at the same time, and of course poor lighting.

Last time I was in Lumpy's some kind of brown liquid dripped on my arm from from the ceiling.

Lumpy's for the 25 cent Busch light draws on Friday nights was the best.

Where was Lumpy's at? We always used to go to Paddy's & occasionally Lost & Found.

Looking to settle a debate. Which was better, Lumpy's or Lost and Found?

Lumpy's $0.25 draws w/ cup pyramid building contest and a shower curtain for the bathroom door. Add in the sent of mildew and back stairwell for the Bathroom overflow and you have winner.

Fully support this thread, not only will it date us who post it will give the outside/young readers some perspective of conditions many of us happily endured.

Basement of People's.

Lumpy's was the best on Friday nights. Always fun trying to see how many empty 25cent cups we could stack before the bouncers would come take them. Also, the constant gamble between waiting in line for the men's room or just sneaking out the back door and peeing on the steps.

When did it close? I don't recall a bar being open under People's when I was 21 in Ames - which would have been 08-09ish. I think "People's" had closed by the time I was of legal age, too.

I just text Lumpy and Eddy to ask them. They both said "How is this even a question? Idiots."

I believe it closed a year or two before that.

I can confirm it was still open in 2006 and the bathroom had a door on it, no shower curtain. But Peoples bathrooms did leak down through the ceiling. Lost and found was fine when Cy's was too crowded
