Would a late first/early second grade after his sophomore year really induce him to leave Ames? Imagining him as a junior in college is practically porn.
That grade will only improve if he shows more PG skills. We will be the first to know if he does that!

This past season I posted an opinion that both Wiggs and Lard could possibly be gone after next season. And I had some snarky replies....So, I'll stick with my opinion, with maybe a slight ante up, I don't expect both of them for their Junior season at ISU.

I don't know about 'snarky' as I do think many think Wigginton will be a strong possibility if he has a good next season. But think most were just stating that they didn't perceive Lard being NBA material yet. If he leaves early after next year, he'll end up in Europe, imo.

I don't think it's as much of a sure thing he leaves next year as some people think. His projection seems pretty fair and if it stays in that neighborhood it gives him a decision to make. Him being old for his class and the projected weak guard class in 2019 are factors that have me leaning towards him leaving though.

Projected 32 is right in that area where it can go either way and make sense either way. I could be remembering wrong but I think Fizer was projected a late first rounder after his sophomore year when he chose to return. He was definitely a lock to get drafted. Being a lottery pick just 10-20 spots higher than late 1st early 2nd makes it an obvious choice.

It's pretty simple for Wigginton. If he's going to be a first round pick, it will be at PG so he has to show he can take care of the ball better and show off more PG skills. If he was 3 inches taller, he'd easily be a 1st round pick at SG

I "fear" (and this is a mixed sensation, because I would love for him to be in Ames as long as possible yet want the kid to realize his NBA dreams and give Prohm another feather in his cap towards the end for recruiting purposes) Wigginton might be the best 6'2" combo guard in school history. Yet, because he never quite flourishes as a natural PG and lacking just those last few inches in size, he never really has an NBA position. That he is a more natural scorer and 2-guard but just lacks that last bit of size for it at the next level.

I know he is long and super springy, though, so I hope he proves that feeling unfounded.

Donovan Mitchell is a 6'3" SG and he seems to be doing alright...

I actually like this comp but like trevman mentioned, Mitchell is slightly taller and has a freakish wingspan (6'10") while Lindell possesses just average length for being 6'2". Mitchell established himself as a very good defender at Louisville (1st team All-ACC defense) and his length as a prospect gave him perceived versatility on that end. I think Lindell can be a good defender as well but we'll have to see how that progresses in year 2.

One thing working in Lindell's favor is he's already surprisingly proven to be a good outside shooter. This was one area I actually thought he'd struggle in early on. Donovan Mitchell was just a career 33% three point shooter at Louisville but he showed good improvement his sophomore year.

Man if LWigg actually goes first round, I would be wholly disappointed we had a one and done and thats how the season all went down.

It would be awesome cred on one side for CSP and maybe as bad cred on the other side.

I'm really excited for next year with that said.

He won't be a 1st rounder this year. This is a projection for 2019.

Wiggy has a good chance of going in the top 20 with a decent soph. year. All depends on how much he improves his 3 point shot.

He shot 40.1% from three with 172 attempts. That's a pretty competitive three point stroke at this level. His free throw shooting and decision-making are what he needs to work on the most.

I hate all 3 of those "NBA Fits"

I actually like the Warriors one. The back of that roster is severely lacking in depth all the sudden, and I think the current core is about to undergo some changes. I have a feeling that this is Harden and Houston's year, which, to me, means somebody of their Big Four, and likely Klay, is going to get shipped out. There is a spot there for Wigginton.

3&D wing with a crack outside shot would be another path forward for Wigginton. He just does not have ideal size for it unless he really was that good of shooter.
