Hey guys! As you know, spirits are high around Cyclone football, we are ranked for the first time in 12 years and we will Pack The Jack for this weekend's game. You could almost say that our wish for Cyclone football came true. Almost.

You probably also know that our Cyclones got snubbed this week for College Gameday. And you could argue that we have the more intriguing story and a fan base who would be more excited to host College Gameday than the Buckeyes.

I am not satisfied, neither are my buddies, AND NEITHER ARE YOU.

So, instead of moping around and settling, there is a better way. LET'S TAKE #CollegeAmesDay TO COLUMBUS!

Here's the plan: we are going to send obnoxiously large signs to Columbus to be held up during College Gameday (we already found people who live there to do it for us; therefore, no one has to miss the game).

A group of us have it all figured out on how to get them there and held up. All we need from you is to head over to the GoFundMe page. Anything you can do will help, even if it's just telling your friends.

More Donations = More Signs

Think about it, you will help take part in something big. You'll be able to watch Gameday and say "I did that" when you see those huge signs. Who knows, maybe it can become a tradition?

Here's the link to the GoFundMe page: https://t.co/KsXKzbhCBC

Let's make it happen!
$405 raised. Is there only one sign or more to come?

I wondered this earlier in the thread...

Either that's one expensive sign, or someone is walking away with about $300 profit.

  • We've spent $280 so far for this weekend (sign, shipping, check to the guys that are going to hold it). We only sent one sign because we only raised $330 at the time we had to make the decision. Extra funds will be used to send the sign to next weeks GameDay show if we win.
If we lose - the extra funds will be used at a later date for marketing Iowa State events, and/or donated to the gridiron club based on the group's decision. There are about 10 people involved in this project.
Edit - there is an ISU alumni group in Columbus and we said we would cover the cost of their banner printing if they show up to Gameday

As a member of the aforementioned group, I can assure you that the money is being tended to carefully. The sign that we created is vinyl and will be shipped back to us after this weekend. In the event of a Cyclone win, the sign will be sent to next week's College Gameday location and we will likely create a second sign to go with it. In the unlikely event that we lose, the sign will be mothballed for use at a later time and excess funds will be dispersed to the Cyclone Gridiron Club or similar Cyclone-centric group/cause.

We learned a few things with this first deployment and will be much more efficient if given another chance next week.

Please know that this was all done very quickly in order to have everything in place in time for Saturday in Columbus.

Don’t do any silly silly stuff. That’s dumb if it’s a cyclone takeover you need cyclone stuff all over and signs that say “you should have came to Ames”.

Any update on added signs and what they say? That way I can watch for them tomorrow. Doesn't it seem weird to anyone else that they are promoting a game that is on a different network (FOX)? If ESPN is hurting, wouldn't they want to promote a game in their network?

Wait....Why is there black in the sign. We don't have black as one of our primary colors.....
Should have used our other color, Blue!!! :jimlad: Please dear God do not do that.

Good work. Too bad there isn't a gold star in the middle of the "M" indicating where Ames is.
